A little more than a week after Disney pulled Peter Pan (1953) from a parade, the film has been reinstated, with another title now taking its place.

Parades have been a pillar of the Disney theme park experience for decades. From Disneyland Resort to Shanghai Disneyland, these processions combine beloved characters, iconic stories, and enchanting music to celebrate Disney’s timeless magic and entertain guests of all ages.

While some parades are more beloved than others, Disneyland Paris is often regarded as being at the forefront of Disney parks’ entertainment. Since 2017, the park’s parade has (for the most part) been Disney Stars on Parade, which welcomes characters from the likes of Frozen (2013), Sleeping Beauty (1959), and Toy Story (1995) in a procession past Sleeping Beauty Castle and down Main Street, U.S.A. on a daily basis.

Peter Pan Temporarily Scrapped From Disney Parks on Parade

Earlier this month, the parade underwent a significant update. When Disney Stars on Parade returned after Christmas, the Discover Imagination float, celebrating Peter Pan and the whimsical world of Neverland, was suddenly removed.

According to DLP Report, not only was the float excluded from the lineup, but its accompanying musical score was also removed.

🔧 The “Discover Imagination” Peter Pan unit has been completely removed from Disney Stars on Parade, including its musical score.
There is a plan to bring back the float in its original state but unfortunately, it won’t be today.

While it was reported that Peter Pan would return to the parade soon, the section’s removal followed a series of updates to how the film is represented in Disney parks.

The film has long been criticized for its portrayal of Native Americans, with many considering it offensive and outdated. In response, Disney has taken steps to address these concerns, such as reimagining its Peter Pan’s Flight attraction to exclude problematic scenes and revising promotional materials. At Disneyland Paris, a promotional video was digitally altered to remove a scene with stereotypical depictions, highlighting the company’s recognition of the sensitivities surrounding the property.

Peter Pan‘s Grand Return

The Peter Pan section has now officially returned to Disney Stars on Parade. However, one float – shaped like a moon – remains absent as of today.

📕 The Peter Pan unit has returned today on Disney Stars on Parade, but just the skull, as the moon trailer seems to still be having technical issues despite efforts to fix it.

The downside is that it seems like yet another float is experiencing problems. The Frozen float is now missing from Disney Stars on Parade. In its place, other Disney princesses – including Cinderella and Aurora – closed out the parade.

This isn’t the first time Disney Stars on Parade has faced recurrent technical issues. As Inside the Magic previously reported, the Finding Nemo (2003) section of the parade has also broken on multiple occasions. To be specific, the float featuring Crush the sea turtle failed to move, talk, and blink.
