When you think about buying merchandise at Walt Disney World, you might think about things like Mickey Ears, Loungefly Backpacks, Spirit Jerseys, and the like. However, there is so much more than just merch with Mickey Mouse and your favorite Disney characters on it. You can find a ton of unique and fun merchandise at Disney World’s massive shopping, dining, and entertainment area called Disney Springs.

Disney Springs has actually been around since 1975, but it has undergone a major transformation and multiple name changes. For eighteen years, the area was called Downtown Disney, and many Disney OG’s still call it that. However, in 2013, Disney announced that the area would undergo a major expansion, and in 2015, it was officially renamed Disney Springs.

According to Disney, Disney Springs is the ultimate one-stop shop, with 90 shopping spots, 70 dining locations, and 25 different kinds of attractions, shows, and events. Guests can get their Disney fix at places like World of Disney, The Art of Disney, Disney’s Candy Cauldron, the new store Disney Ever After, and more.

Then, there are unique spots like Basin, the Coca-Cola Store, Lefty’s – The Left Hand Store, the M&M’s store, Savannah Bee Company, and so many more.

But one Disney Springs store has guests and fans shocked by what they saw.

The two weeks from Christmas to New Year’s are some of the busiest days at the parks. Many theme park attractions frequently see wait times of more than an hour, lines for food can get ridiculously long, and popular merchandise can sell out very quickly.

However, one thing that might not be expected is a store full of completely empty shelves. But that is exactly what happened when one Redditor visited the LEGO Store, hoping to get some incredible merchandise.

While there appeared to be a few small boxes left, all of the other shelves were completely empty.

Thought this was interesting… I come down to WDW usually ~3 or 4 times a year. Always come for NYE. Almost always make a point to go to the lego store @ the springs and have never seen this or anything remotely close for that matter. They were out of stock of every item except one. They spread their stock of the one item all around the store to semi fill the shelves but it still looked so odd. They had people at the front door making an announcement as you walked in. Has anyone experienced this in the past?

The Original Poster (OP) did praise the employees, who were doing whatever they could to keep SOMETHING on the shelves. The cast members also played with kids who came into the store and let them build some of their own unique creations.

Others pointed out that LEGO has a ton of new sets coming out on January 1, which is why the employees might have been told not to restock the shelves once things sold out.

According to various sites, LEGO has more than 140 sets coming out in January alone. That should be more than enough to stock the stores with never-before-seen sets!

The OP did reply to that comment, saying that they thought they saw some bigger sets in the back storeroom.

If true, that means that the beloved Disney Springs Store will be full of great new merchandise at opening tomorrow! And guests will be able to shop to their heart’s content.
