In a decision that is set to shock both Disney World and Disneyland guests alike, a failed attraction is making a big return.
At both Walt Disney World Resort, there are some attractions that simply stand the test of time. Haunted Mansion, Peter Pan’s Flight, Jungle Cruise, Space Mountain, and Pirates of the Caribbean are just a handful of attractions that have been present inside “The Most Magical Place on Earth” for decades and aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. Whether you visit Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, or Disney’s Animal Kingdom, you’ll find a mixture of longstanding attractions and entertainment offerings, as well as many that were abandoned.

Now, it seems that Disney is taking one defunct Disney World attraction and moving it a little more than 2,500 miles west to Anaheim, CA, as part of an upcoming event.
A special event exclusive to Disneyland, “Season of the Force,” amplifies the Star Wars experience within the California theme park, both within the confines of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and throughout other areas of the park.

According to the Disneyland website, the limited-time Season of the Force will grace Disneyland Park from April 5 through June 2, 2024. The company eagerly announced, “We previously teased that ‘Season of the Force’ will feature limited-time offerings, plus new experiences to continue your Star Wars story at Disneyland Resort. Today, we’re sharing more details on what to expect – including a new nighttime experience in ‘Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge,’ along with food, merchandise, and more.”
As part of the festivities, Disneyland will introduce a selection of themed beverages accompanied by souvenir drinkware inspired by the now-defunct “Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser.”
Here’s a look at the two drinks that were on the menu at the failed Walt Disney World Resort hotel, which will now be offered in Disneyland for a select time.
- Fiery Mustafarian: El Mayor Añejo Tequila, Aperol Aperitivo Liqueur, peach purée, peach syrup, and lime juice served with a dropper of spicy lava syrup
- Silver Sea Martini: Hendrick’s Gin, Minute Maid Lemonade, ginger syrup, honey, and mint syrup topped with a shimmery butterfly pea flower tea

The closure of Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser in May of 2023 marked a significant setback for Disney’s ambitious foray into immersive theme park experiences. Billed as a revolutionary two-night adventure, the interactive hotel promised guests the chance to live out their Star Wars fantasies aboard a luxurious starship. However, plagued by operational challenges and underwhelming guest feedback, the project failed to live up to expectations. Despite its initial hype and the promise of an unparalleled immersion into the Star Wars universe, the Galactic Starcruiser struggled to deliver on its ambitious vision.
Critics pointed to a variety of factors contributing to the demise of the Galactic Starcruiser, including its high price point, which limited accessibility to a broader audience. Additionally, some Disney World guests found the experience to be lacking in substance, with reports of technical glitches and a narrative that failed to fully engage participants.

While the full Galactic Starcruiser won’t be making a comeback, this Disneyland event allows certain aspects of the attraction to be remembered, albeit at a different resort location.
Disney’s official statement on the upcoming event can be read below:
“Debuting during the event, embark on new adventures aboard Star Tours – The Adventures Continue and watch the Disneyland Park fireworks from within Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge on select nights! Plus, enjoy specially themed food, beverages, merchandise and more for a limited time!”
