Alex Trebek has been a household name for decades now as the host of popular television program, Jeopardy! As we’ve learned today the television legend has passed at the age of 80.

Trebek had been battling pancreatic cancer, which he announced last spring. Since the ongoing pandemic, Jeopardy! had been showing older episodes because they were unable to safely film without a studio audience. However, these last few weeks have shown what we can now infer as Alex Trebek’s last filmed episodes.
Not only has Trebek made an impact with just the ABC network, he has also made quite an impact in the Disney world!
Last November, Trebek hosted a special episode of Jeopardy! just in time for celebrating 25 years of Disney on Broadway!
And who could forget Trebek’s appearance in a beloved attraction at Walt Disney World?! Trebek made a classic Jeopardy! appearance daily during Ellen’s Energy Adventure for about 35 years! Although this attraction is no more, we do hope this video brings you good memories.
News of Trebek’s passing came from a post from Jeopardy! on Twitter. The post states:
Jeopardy! is deeply saddened to share that Alex Trebek passed away peacefully at his home early this morning, surrounded by family and friends. Thank you, Alex.

Even Walt Disney Chairman Executive, Bob Iger expressed his condolences and had nothing but fond words to say about Alex Trebek. Iger stated:
We mourn the loss of #alextrebek- a friend, a colleague, an icon. He graced us with warmth, wit & pure elegance, which is why we welcomed him into our homes night after night, year after year. We are deeply saddened for his wife Jean, his family & millions of Jeopardy fans.
