That cringe pic of the rock in the suit was enough to run people away from this remake. Please stop showing that same pic!

Look at me, I look like Grandma Rock! — The Rock (from Hannah Montana)

It still sounds like Disney is blaming the failure of the remake on the fact it was put out less than two years after the sequel and that people got “Moana fatigue”. That is not the case. The next sequel would have profited. It’s just that the audience has got remake fatigue, especially when Disney screws every one they make with poor casting choices, heavy CGI, agenda and sloppy workmanship on the script

To me it sounds like they’re still remaking sleeping beauty and Tiana in a sense. As for Gaston, that’s a prequel to a remake like Mufasa (which wasn’t canon) was to the Lion King remake so in a sense it’s still a live action remake. I’ll be skipping that to because I have a feeling it’s going to be about how Gaston and the prince were once besties and their friendship broke up and Gaston turned ‘misunderstood’ because his friend got what he thought his destiny was. So no thanks.

As usual Disney’s looking to blame anything else but themselves for bad movies. Oh it’s the audiences fault…oh it’s this movies fault…how about just admit to us what we already know: you are out of ideas and we’re tired of live action!

  5. Snow White losing a reported $170 million on a $336 million budget is a brutal wake-up call, and it makes sense that Disney is backing away from scene-for-scene remakes. I actually like the sound of the new direction though — a Sleeping Beauty project from the director of Prey and a Gaston spinoff have real creative potential compared to another shot-for-shot retread. As someone who grew up on the animated originals, I’d much rather see these worlds expanded than simply replayed.

Nah remake era ain’t dead. Disney cant let it go away it’s all they know how to do anymore
