I think you are right.
My wife and I wanted a lunch time reservation at Diamond Horseshoe for a trip in October. My experience when reservations went live backs up your observations. Slots for two existed, but were spread out.
I bet the recommendation about walk-ups will work for a lot of people.
Well that’s what’s going to start happening. We tried to book in August for our September trip and never found one for two . We did a walk up but it was very annoying and next time we will just book for four and two will be “ sick “
NO ..Walk ups not. My wife and i on our Anniversary tried to get in as a walk up and we were told you should of made a reservation so sorry no. Then tried another few days later and again told sorry reservations only .Not happening for walk ups
I’ve been complaining for years about single dining discrimination not just at Disney but many good restaurants all over the country. Just 1 less place I won’t give my business too on my next trip
My wife and I have been visiting since 2008 and sometimes more than once a year. We noticed this issue long ago. If our kids were with us, a party of four, we always got a reservation. If it were the two of us, it would be a lot harder. Then my wife tried the party of four trick and lo and behold a reservation was available. So from then on we would book 4 people and then call the day before to tell them the kids were sick. That was also before the app became heavily needed and now the kids are all grown and won’t be coming back with us.

I have been noticing this since my last trip in July.

Why not simply book a table for 4 and just have 2 people show up?
