The holiday season is about to look — and sound — a little different at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Disney World has been revealing several seasonal changes coming to its attractions this year, giving guests more than the usual decorations, Christmas trees, and holiday treats to look forward to. Some familiar rides will temporarily change their music or entertainment for the season, creating experiences that guests won’t be able to find during the rest of the year.
Now, another attraction is joining that growing list.

Alien Swirling Saucers in Toy Story Land will receive its own holiday addition beginning in November, bringing several festive songs to the attraction for a limited time.
The timing is especially interesting because Disney recently made another change to the area around the ride. Lilypad, the interactive character from Toy Story 5 (2026), was recently added near Alien Swirling Saucers, giving guests something completely new to discover in Toy Story Land.
Soon, the nearby ride will be getting a seasonal change of its own.
Alien Swirling Saucers Is Getting Festive for the Holidays
Alien Swirling Saucers normally sends guests spinning around Toy Story Land as the Little Green Men pilot their toy rocket ships.
This holiday season, however, the soundtrack will change.
From November 4 through January 6, Disney World guests riding Alien Swirling Saucers will hear four festive songs: “Toyland,” “Deck the Halls,” “Swirling, Swirling Saucers,” and “Joy to the Swirl.”
That gives guests roughly two months to experience the seasonal version before the attraction presumably returns to its regular soundtrack.
The change doesn’t involve a major refurbishment or a completely redesigned ride experience. Instead, Disney is using music to give the attraction a temporary holiday personality.
For an attraction like Alien Swirling Saucers, that makes plenty of sense. Music already plays a major role in the experience, so changing the soundtrack can make the ride feel noticeably different without requiring Disney to physically transform the attraction.
It also gives families another reason to revisit something they may have already experienced on a previous trip.
Lilypad Just Arrived Near Alien Swirling Saucers
The holiday change comes shortly after another notable addition to this corner of Toy Story Land.
Disney recently introduced Lilypad near Alien Swirling Saucers. The interactive character comes from Toy Story 5(2026), bringing an element from Pixar’s newest Toy Story adventure directly into Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
That means the area around Alien Swirling Saucers is already different for returning visitors.

Disney World frequently uses its theme parks to connect guests with newer movies and characters, and Lilypad gives Toy Story Land a way to acknowledge the newest chapter in the franchise without replacing one of the land’s existing attractions.
Now, the seasonal soundtrack will add another temporary change.
For guests visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios during the holidays, this part of Toy Story Land could therefore feel considerably different from a visit earlier in 2026. There’s a recently added character to discover nearby, while Alien Swirling Saucers itself will have music specifically designed for the holiday season.
And it won’t be the only Disney World attraction getting that treatment.
Disney World Has a History of Holiday Overlays
Holiday attraction overlays have become one of the more interesting parts of visiting Disney World toward the end of the year.
Rather than simply putting decorations around the parks, Disney sometimes changes portions of the attractions themselves.
Jungle Cruise has famously transformed into Jingle Cruise during the holiday season. The attraction keeps its familiar Adventureland setting and boat ride, but seasonal jokes and decorations give guests a different version of the experience.
Space Mountain has also received seasonal treatment during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, with holiday music and special lighting transforming the familiar Magic Kingdom roller coaster.
Disney has experimented with seasonal changes at other attractions over the years as well. The basic idea remains the same: take something guests already know and temporarily change part of the experience.
It’s a relatively simple way to make repeat visits feel different.
Guests who have ridden Alien Swirling Saucers multiple times aren’t suddenly getting a new ride in November. But hearing an entirely different group of songs while spinning around Toy Story Land can make the experience feel more specific to the season.
And Disney appears to be leaning further into that strategy this year.
Guardians of the Galaxy Is Getting a Holiday Change Too
Alien Swirling Saucers isn’t alone.
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT is also getting seasonal music for the holidays. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will receive holiday changes as well.
Cosmic Rewind is particularly well suited to that kind of change because music is such an important part of the attraction.

Normally, riders don’t know which song they’ll hear when their ride begins. That unpredictability has become part of the coaster’s appeal, with guests sometimes riding repeatedly in hopes of hearing different tracks.
Holiday music gives Disney an opportunity to play with that concept without changing the coaster itself.
It also creates a limited-time experience. Someone visiting during the holidays may get a version of Cosmic Rewind that isn’t available during a spring or summer vacation.
That’s increasingly becoming part of Disney World’s seasonal strategy.
Hollywood Studios Will Have More Than One Holiday Ride Change
The bigger story may be what’s happening across Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Alien Swirling Saucers won’t be the park’s only attraction receiving seasonal treatment.
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets is also expected to receive a limited-time holiday overlay, meaning guests could encounter multiple attraction changes during a single day at Hollywood Studios.
That gives the park’s holiday season another layer beyond its decorations and entertainment.

It also comes during an important period of change for Hollywood Studios. The park continues evolving with new and updated experiences, while Disney works on even larger additions for the future.
The holiday overlays won’t carry the same weight as opening a new attraction, of course. They’re temporary changes to rides that guests can already experience.
But that’s also part of their appeal.
Disney doesn’t need to reinvent Alien Swirling Saucers to make it worth another spin. A different soundtrack can be enough to make someone who normally walks past the attraction decide to ride again.
The Holiday Version Won’t Last Forever
Guests interested in experiencing the seasonal version of Alien Swirling Saucers will have a limited window.
The festive soundtrack begins November 4 and continues through January 6.
After that, the holiday songs are expected to disappear along with the rest of Disney World’s seasonal offerings.
That limited availability could make Alien Swirling Saucers more appealing to returning guests who wouldn’t ordinarily prioritize it.
The attraction can sometimes get lost in a Hollywood Studios lineup filled with larger experiences. Slinky Dog Dash, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets can easily command more attention.
A seasonal soundtrack gives Alien Swirling Saucers something those guests haven’t necessarily experienced before.
Combined with the recent arrival of Lilypad nearby, Disney has suddenly given visitors a couple of new reasons to spend more time in this portion of Toy Story Land.
Disney Is Making Familiar Rides Feel Different This Christmas
Disney World doesn’t need to build a brand-new attraction every holiday season to give returning guests something different.
Sometimes changing the music is enough.
Alien Swirling Saucers will soon join a long line of Disney attractions that have received temporary seasonal changes, following the same general idea Disney has used with attractions such as Jungle Cruise, Space Mountain, and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.

This year’s change also arrives at an interesting moment for Toy Story Land. With Lilypad recently joining the area and holiday music coming to Alien Swirling Saucers in November, returning guests will encounter several things that weren’t part of the experience earlier in the year.
The seasonal soundtrack won’t stick around for long.
Once January 6 arrives, the limited-time songs will wrap up. Until then, guests spinning around with the Little Green Men will get a much more festive soundtrack — and one more holiday-exclusive experience to add to their Disney’s Hollywood Studios plans.
