Disney creative talent isn’t what it once was. They need to pay REAL engineers to design and maintain ride structures. Just for giggles my daughter applied for an mechanical engineering position with Disney…she accepted a starting position that paid $72,000 MORE than Disney, in the South for a Fortune 100 company.The Disney offer was laughable.
You say Piston Peak will add considerable attraction capacity to allow Disney to take Tiana down for a major refurb. Piston Peak is only adding 2 rides & Villians is also only slated for 2 ride attractions. Since Disney has already added 900 rooms with Lakeside Lodge, those new attractions are not going to alleviate crowds or ride congestion. Disney needs to stop building rooms that increase guest numbers while not addressing the already overcrowding in its existing parks.

I was there and can confirm. With Disney being broken up as a monopoly, that means no more Pixar in the parks to avoid billions in licensing fees.

As for Tianas Bayou Adventure, I desperately want to see more animatronics added spoonbill birds lady butterflies a showboat added in the ride. But sadly Steve we need to accept the new Disney reality as it is even if we don’t like the downgrade change they chose. I have learned to accept change. I’m still sad about the old Provo Utah temple cake shape being torn down.

WDW is going back to the 1980s and 90s under management who will erase the Iger era and usher in the Make Disney Great Again era. Kids will need to accept their parents’ Disney and get on the purist train because Disney will be catering only to them. Disney is also being broken up as a monopoly by Washington and Pixar is going away in the parks. Why do I have photos on the Liberty Belle with my kids and the photos have a date stamp of October 1, 2046?

Nobody asked for the Tiana ride, and nobody wanted it after it was announced. It was better as Splash Mountain and was only re-skinned to silence the loud minority of complainers on the left.
No one on the left was complaining about the ride specifically. The movie it was based on “Song of the South” has had racial controversy for decades and Disney just wants to bury it.

Hopefully the gift shop situation will improve as well it is awful! I don’t even understand why the one Co-op is even open most of the stuff in there is fake for decorative purposes. Big empty spaces throughout. nothing to buy it’s just terrible.
If Tiana is indeed getting replaced how many humanoids will thrust their trusty old race cards in the air and start complaining or even protest. They were the ones that told those of us that love Splash Mountain to deal with it. Now we can tell them the same thing 😀
People forget this ride had many operational problems even back when it was Splash Mountain. There are obviously design flaws that were not fixed with the re-skin.
I hope that they do actually fix it correctly this time. They’ve had issues with it ever since the cast member preview occurred. I’ve never ridden on it. I’m not too big on Magic Kingdom. I prefer Epcot, Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios.
I am not a super Disney fanatic but I do like the ride. Went last week when the weather was roasting, the ride was fun, colorful with lots of characters to see, yes there was a wait in the middle of the ride but not long. The speed is fast and exciting. It’d be a bummer that it’s under maintenance for non seasonal tourists 😂. One of my favorite ride though “Sugar!”
The ride that Taina replaced, Splash Mountain, was based on the least racist film ever made, Song of the South, and the activists called it the most racist — and won.
At the same time, the activists took the life out of Main Street in the Magic Kingdom when they stopped the “Zip a Dee” song.
The only thing left of Walt’s actual work in Disney World will soon be nothing but facades, and the new stuff isn’t any where near as incredible as Walt Disney’s work. They need to bring back Splash Mountain, even if the shareholders have to vote out every single member of the board to do it.

Walt Disney chose one of the nicest men in the world, perhaps who ever lived, to play Uncle Remus, and he made his character to be of saintly character, putting up with the Disneyfide antebellum southern plantation attitudes because there’s a biblical verse that it wins favor when a man bears up under unjust trials, and that’s exactly what happened. The movie was a genius and brilliant work that was obviously intended to change the attitudes of many people in order to bring about racial reconciliation in America and the advancement of black people. The movie is all about Uncle Remus and what an incredibly good man he was and it left white people feeling badly for help poorly black people have been treated in American history. Changing hearts is how you change the society, and that was a masterful movie to accomplish that purpose without people even realizing that it was something much more than just entertainment. And now present powers that be at Disney have so foolishly thrown away as if it were trash when it was really treasure beyond their imagination.

Even when the mechanical elements are all working, the show is still broken. Its too depressing to bother riding anymore.
