I love Star Wars too much, the problem is, since Disney bought it and rewriting everything, you have cut your main audience out. Gen X has been waiting for the REAL episode 7, 8 , and 9. We championed disney at first when they acquired Star Wars. Then to come up with the story they told, I mean it’s watchable and some of it still has the Soul of Star Wars. But where’s Mara Jade, Where’s Jacen and Jaina and Anakin Solo? Where’s Ben Skywalker? Grogu…the most awesome little green dude ever, he was needed in Star Wars. But leaving those key characters out and making characters that are shadows of them, Kylo Ren and Rey. Disappointing for Gen X. Rey with her suprise origin is awesome, but Ben Solo, come on no originality especially with the legends kids. We have a library of novels that became obsolete when Disney seperated them. Disney can fix all of this by opening up the space after Return of the Jedi, bring the kids back in some way and get Gen X and all generations excited for Star Wars again.
Never watched the sequels. They were trash. There’s only six Star Wars. For some there’s only three. Looking forward to watching these new ‘sequels’ fail.
Disney knows that most of their SW spinoffs and movies have been financial flops yet they continue to force more slop on us. The IP is completely dead, only Disney wants to keep it alive. And no normal SW fan wants anything to do with palpatines fake granddaughter
I was born in the 90s and not one tiny bit ashamed to say I never watched Disneys Star Wars. I watched the originals first, then the prequels. While I don’t like the heavy CGI look of the prequels, I enjoy the action of Revenge of the Sith and the events leading up to A New Hope. I do not like the edited versions of the originals. I like the two ewok movies in a way. I never even heard about the release of the sequels when they first came out I don’t think. I read about them online and wasn’t much interested in a female Jedi being in the lead, especially when she’s supposed to be a descendant of the Emperor and I was really turned off when I read they killed off the OG main characters. Later on when I started seeing baby yoda merch showing up in stores I had no idea what movie they were supposed to be coming from but I sure as heck got tired of seeing it everywhere. From what I understand though I think the fad has finally run it’s course. I did hear that the SW movie that came out this year was a massive fail thank goodness. Disney has taken the Star Wars narrative way too far from Lucas’s main Skywalker saga and drained it dry. Anyway just saying Disney has really ruined the franchise for us true Star Wars fans and apparently don’t care about what the fans are asking of them. For most of us it ended after the celebration of the empires defeat in Return of the Jedi. If Disney wants to make fifty more sequels that’s their unhealthy problem but for us we have our favorites and can’t be drawn back in something they took into their greedy hands and destroyed with their agenda and poor writing
