I was never intrigued to get into streaming in the first place, I’m not old I was born in the 90s just smart. I mean, why pay a monthly price (that always rises) and start depending on the internet to watch stuff when physical media, cable or antenna already exists? I always had an extensive DVD collection or an antenna with the movies and shows that I like, and nothing they play on TV today anymore is any good it’s loaded in political junk even the co mmercials are trash. So why even bother with streaming?
As a matter of fact, I read somewhere months ago the young people who did drop DVDs to start streaming are going back to DVDs because streaming became too frustrating for them. They don’t appreciate new series being cancelled before it ended, rising prices and edited content or “sensitivity warnings” being put in front of it. And now ads are starting to be a problem. Hang onto those DVDs and antennas folks!
(Yes, YT is also a more acceptable option than services like Netflix!)
With too long a wait for new seasons to arrive, makes dropping a subscription more tantalising. Plus …. a season means only 8 maybe 1O episodes. Remember the days when shows did 30 to 35 episodes a year? 10 years ago it was roughly 15 episodes a year. Now plenty shows go 8 episodes at best. It’s pathetic now!
I was an original Netflix subscriber. We always had some cable service with many extra channels. My feeling was that the streaming service/cable company should grandfather their original customers for loyalty and not switching to other competing rivals. Silly me.
It was a great deal when it started but not anymore, I’ll buy them or just not watch it. The price is outrageous for what you’re getting from them. I’m out!

I abhor the incredibly short seasons, huge series gaps that lead to memory lapses, and excessive foreign content without appropriate labeling. Netflix also drops good shows. I was angry when it failed to renew Archive 81. Why watch when something won’t return? I’m also not going to pay yearly increasing fees. I mostly watch Youtube anyway.

Yeah, I remember when a season was around 21-22 episodes a season, now, 6-10, sometimes 12 episodes a season.
