Credit: LucasfilmThe Mandalorian and Grogu may have only just made their big-screen debut in this year’s film of the same name, but the adventures of the galaxy’s favorite bounty hunter and his adorable companion have already been given a new makeover. And while several familiar faces have returned to reprise their roles, not everyone from the Disney+ series has come along for the ride.
The Mandalorian Brings Back Several Actors
Several cast members from The Mandalorian (2019) have returned in an official new project. Some, however, have been replaced by new actors.
LEGO Star Wars: The Mandalorian is the latest entry in the Mando-Verse following this year’s theatrical release. But the new special doesn’t continue the story of Din Djarin and Grogu — instead, it revisits all three seasons of The Mandalorian in true LEGO Star Wars fashion.
According to StarWars.com, “this new animated galactic adventure celebrates your favorite stories and characters from all three seasons of The Mandalorian series, making it perfect for Star Wars and LEGO fans of all ages.”
The official trailer for LEGO Star Wars: The Mandalorian was revealed at this year’s D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Experience, where an early screening was also held. Watch it here:

Despite not appearing in The Mandalorian & Grogu, several cast members from The Mandalorian have returned to voice their respective characters.
They include Katee Sackhoff as Bo-Katan Kryze, Giancarlo Esposito as Moff Gideon, Ming-Na Wen as Fennec Shand, Amy Sedaris as Peli Motto, Bill Burr as Migs Mayfield, Nick Nolte as Kuiil, Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano, Taika Waititi as IG-11, Temuera Morrison as Boba Fett, Emily Swallow as the Armorer, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee as Carson Teva, and Timothy Olyphant as Cobb Vanth.
Other Mandalorian Characters Have Been Recast
However, some characters have been recast, including Luke Skywalker, with Eric Bauza replacing Mark Hamill, and Pedro Pascal handing the reins over to Gavin Hammon for Din Djarin.
The Client, who was previously portrayed by Werner Herzog, is now voiced by Flula Borg. The Client was one of the first major villains introduced in The Mandalorian, with Herzog bringing a suitably mysterious and intimidating presence to the character throughout the first season.
Meanwhile, Greef Karga, who was portrayed by the late Carl Weathers, is now voiced by Carl Lumbly. Cara Dune, however, is not part of the special, despite being a regular character in the first two seasons of the hit Disney+ series. While Gina Carano was fired by Lucasfilm in 2021 for sharing divisive social media posts, it seems strange that she wasn’t recast like everyone else.
LEGO Star Wars: The Mandalorian is now streaming on Disney+.
The Mandalorian & Grogu is also now streaming, along with all three seasons of The Mandalorian.
