This year hasn’t been the best for the Mandalorian (Pedro Pascal) and Grogu. Their first big-screen adventure of the same name was considered a box-office disappointment after grossing $345.7 million worldwide against its $165 million budget, and it received mixed reviews from audiences and critics.

Since then, fans have been asking what’s next for the bounty hunter and the pint-sized Force user. They’ve already made low-key returns through expanded media including tabletop games, card games, and comic books, and there’s also a new comic titled The Mandalorian and Grogu: Nightmare on Navarro releasing in October.
But what about the original, live-action versions of Din Djarin and Grogu?

The iconic duo first appeared in The Mandalorian in 2019 and returned across two subsequent seasons of the flagship Disney+ series, the spinoff series The Book of Boba Fett, and this year’s theatrical continuation The Mandalorian & Grogu. Currently, however, there are no plans for The Mandalorian Season 4.
So, which “is the way” for these characters? More specifically, will Pedro Pascal ever play Din Djarin again? While there’s every chance he might appear in the upcoming second season of Ahsoka, which premieres on the streamer next January, nothing has been confirmed by Lucasfilm.
However, the Mandalorian and Grogu will return in animated form — but without Pascal.

Lucasfilm and The LEGO Group are collaborating yet again, this time to revisit all three seasons of the hit Disney+ series in a new special titled LEGO Star Wars: The Mandalorian.
According to StarWars.com, “this new animated galactic adventure celebrates your favorite stories and characters from all three seasons of The Mandalorian series, making it perfect for Star Wars and LEGO fans of all ages.”
Lucasfilm Recasts The Mandalorian
As this is a LEGO special, unsurprisingly, there are some new voice actors, with Gavin Hammon replacing Pedro Pascal as Din Djarin/The Mandalorian. Also, Mark Hamill has not returned to voice Luke Skywalker either, despite having done so across numerous Star Wars projects outside his live-action performances. Instead, the character is voiced by Eric Bauza in the new special.
Several other actors from The Mandalorian have returned to voice their respective characters, though, including Katee Sackhoff as Bo-Katan Kryze, Giancarlo Esposito as Moff Gideon, Ming-Na Wen as Fennec Shand, Nick Nolte as Kuiil, Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano, Taika Waititi as IG-11/IG-12, Temuera Morrison as Boba Fett, and Timothy Olyphant as Cobb Vanth.

However, the special omits Cara Dune entirely, despite the fact she appears throughout the first two seasons of The Mandalorian. Gina Carano, who played the character, was fired by Lucasfilm in 2021 for sharing divisive social media posts, which resulted in a wrongful dismissal lawsuit.
LEGO Star Wars: The Mandalorian streams on Disney+ on September 2.
A full trailer was revealed at this year’s D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Experience, where an early screening was also held.
All three seasons of The Mandalorian are now streaming.
The Mandalorian & Grogu is expected to premiere on Disney+ on September 2.
