We used to love staying at the Disneyland Hotel. It was a happy part of the experience. Then prices went up enough that we only stayed there for special occasions. Now the prices have gotten so crazy that we no longer can even consider staying there. Basically, your average family and Disney lover can no longer choose the Disneyland Hotel as part of their trip. It’s a shame.
I’ve never had a bad experience at the Disneyland Hotel and we stay there every year. This hotel is my favorite of the three in property. It’s welcoming, sparkling clean, and impressive to say the least. I would NEVER hesitate to stay there or recommend it. Couldn’t be further from reality when using the word “condemned.”
I have stayed there for the first time recently. Cleanliness was never an issue but the bed was way too firm and the pillows were not great. Grand Californian is a better stay but can’t afford it. I still plan to stay at Disneyland hotel later this year during Christmas. I love the immersive experience and glad the monorail is up and running and can drop you off right at the hotel.

When the prices went over 500.00 a night with no real early entry, no amenities to take home, no real extras, we finally made the decision to start staying off site. I absolutely always loved the lighted headboard, and the decor, but it’s true that the beds are a bit hard, and it really isn’t worth the high price. Still love it, but can’t afford it anymore.
We can’t justify the price of the Disneyland hotels when we can stay across the street for a fraction less. We can walk there in 7 minutes. On the other hand, we love the convenience of staying at the Walt Disney World hotels and always stay in them.
