This does explain some of what happened. Chapek still made mistakes, but I do truly believe Iger interfered. Iger didn’t want to leave Disney. I believe he was in contact with his hand-picked board and initiated a comeback. He used Disney to set himself up (Manhattan bldg he bought & formed a Forever Lease that ABC shows will be broadcast from this bldg), stock shares & salary increase, then when his contract was coming to an end, he attempted to set himself up as a Co-CEO, then advisor. (Only forced to leave as ‘alleged’ in the Epstein files. I am angry that being his name is tied to Epstein, Disney has not distanced themselves from him. Instead, giving him a Disney Legend honor!! What about the high standards of Disney?
What about the fact he was laying off CM’s, no dividends paid to shareholders and yet he’s flying around in a private jet? Didn’t see Michael Isner doing any of this.
This ‘pissing’ match between these 2 only proves 1 thing to the guest and the shareholder.. they never gave a crap about either..the modern CEO is a narcissistic tool that only cares about his own paycheck and ego, damn the legacy of a fine company. The disconnect btwn the ground floor and the ivory tower just keeps getting farther away… Shame on both of these men, Walt wouldn’t have entertained either for trash removal positions…
