Being most CMs are young & in child bearing years, the parental leave is good. However, there are many older CMs that would never use this benefit & no benefit offered to match. I think Disney is looking for something that benefits all. Maybe a parental leave bank could be created, where so many work days p/month or yr could be banked for a leave period. This could also benefit all CMs.
I wonder when the Company stopped the Stock Purchase Plan. It was a great benefit when I worked there 25 years ago and the Stock split in 3.
As for open enrollment, I don’t know of any large scale Company that does not require that. It’s a good thing, a xast member can change benefits as their personal needs change. Not all CMs will utilize parental time off. More CMs are childfree for many reasons. There should be some kind of bank or other option for those CMs. Perhaps pet or elderly time off.
