Pixie Hollow’s disruptions aren’t new. The Fantasyland space spent nine months closed from 2024 into 2025 for a reimagining project that converted a second meet-and-greet area, once used for Tinker Bell’s fairy friends, into an extended queue for the primary Tinker Bell encounter. Those fairies haven’t returned to meet guests at Pixie Hollow since. Taken together with the recent periods of closures and partial schedules, the space looks less like a one-off refurbishment and more like a gradual, two-year transition that Disney hasn’t fully explained at any point along the way.
Guests planning a visit should build in flexibility rather than count on a Tinker Bell meet-and-greet. The most reliable way to confirm same-day hours is through the Disneyland Resort app or by checking with a character attendant near Fantasyland, since Disney has not committed to a firm schedule and has not said whether Tinker Bell will move to a temporary location while Pixie Hollow remains unsettled.
The most recent update to the resort calendar extends listed operations through September 23, and as of this writing, Pixie Hollow does not appear anywhere on it from September 6. No hours are listed for the attraction on any date within that window, extending the stretch of uncertainty well beyond the September 18 date that was previously the furthest the calendar went.
The upcoming September 6 closure follows a modified reopening that itself only lasts a few weeks. Pixie Hollow returned to service on August 7 after being closed since August 4, but the comeback didn’t restore the space’s original seven-day operation. Instead, Disney is closing the area every Tuesday and Thursday through the rest of August and into September, a pattern that gave guests noticeably fewer chances to meet Tinker Bell than before. On the days it is open during that stretch, Tinker Bell keeps the same hours guests have grown used to: 8:15 a.m. to 10:20 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The whole sequence started on July 27, when Disneyland Resort updated its website to show a refurbishment closure for Pixie Hollow beginning August 4. Up until that point, the attraction had been running its usual daily hours. Disney offered no explanation for the closure when it was first listed, and hasn’t offered one since, through the modified reopening, the Tuesday and Thursday closures, or now the calendar’s extension to September 23, with the space still absent from it following September 6’s shutdown.
If a Tinker Bell meet-and-greet is a priority for an upcoming Disneyland trip in September, don’t build the visit around it right now. With the resort calendar extended to September 23 and Pixie Hollow still not listed on it from September 6, there’s no confirmed date for guests to plan against. Check the Disneyland Resort app close to your travel dates, and have a backup plan for the Fantasyland portion of your day in case the space remains closed when you arrive.
