Disney World is all about new things this is the only thing new that took less than 6 years to make! Trash cans , if only children at Disney World learned how to use their feet instead of their hands to open it we would be in good shape!
The only thing I know it gonna be an issue is wheelchair users and physical disabilities. Other wise, touch less trash cans are pretty cool and both eco friendly and health conscious.
I’m handicapped. I wear leg braces. Not going to happen. These won’t be handicapped friendly. You can tell the engineer isn’t handicapped nor do they have any kind of family that has leg and foot handicaps..
I brought all my children to Disney and that was actually my honeymoon. Always beautiful, clean, fun, and educational.
I now even work in Orlando.
I hope they’ll find a way to scale down and realize the importance of Disney’s dream for it is the dream if all children and adults for generations of families. Can folks purchase stock?
Animal Kingdom in particular really needed this. There’s a reason they’ve never given plastic straws or plastic lids for drinks at Animal Kingdom – inconsiderate guests and unmonitored children will throw them into the animal exhibits. Having trash cans that can compact and aren’t constantly too full to throw anything away is a big help. I worked at a restaurant (not Disney) that had an automated trash can that compacted, since we had a huge volume of customers and couldn’t just allocate an employee to change the trash bags every 20 minutes. The compactor trash cans are super easy, you have to have little to no knowledge about modern technology to not be able to figure it out lol. And I’m frankly not concerned with whether or not elderly folks can figure it out, I’m worried about saving the planet for the next generation.

Let’s be honest here. If you can’t open a trash can you are a visitor at Disney land.

These types of trash cans exist in other areas. They are not new and are easy to use. Video instructions???
