The name change is not out of the ordinary for Disney. I’m sure that the name ‘Disney Lakeshore Resort’ was applied to the paperwork for in-process work. Eventually, the name would change to ‘Disney’s..’, like the other Disney resorts. Nothing new.
And the plaque that you mentioned along the trail, that ‘beloved attraction’ was, of course, River Country. I’m very glad to hear that River Country is being remembered, as it was the first Disney Waterpark, and although gone, should not be forgotten. It was a great attraction for those times, before the more-advanced Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach that we enjoy today.
All in all, I’m very excited to hear about Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge, its decor and facilities. And I’m looking forward to being a guest!

Sounds like a beautiful resort. I just wish that Disney would come down in their prices.
