No, they need to be banned. In addition to how dangerous they are being driven around crowded parks, they are fire hazards. Look at all the fatal fires lately caused by battery explosions. Now imagine what happens when all the people who didn’t actually need these things abandon them, blocking doorways and hallways, during the resulting fire of one of them going off. Safety first.
I know, I know I’m the one who said “Disney is for little kids. Go to Universal if you’re older than 5.” So I should be getting worked up over this because I don’t go to Disney so this shouldn’t impact me, but those voices in my head are starting to get confused
It’s not the scooters. A machine is only as good as the person who built it or uses it. If the battery malfunctions its because China didn’t make them better quality and it’s Disney’s fault for not keeping them maintained properly. So if you want to blame someone blame China. Also blame drivers who are careless.

If you were struck by a bicycle rider coming down the sidewalk are you going to call for bicycles to be banned and claim it was the bicycle that forced it’s rider to injure you? These scooters are a helpmate to disabled people. If they mess up, it’s a mechanical problem probably caused by poorly made or worn out parts. Heat may also attribute to exploding batteries.
Wheelchairs exist. Most real disabled people use those, not scooters. No one suggested that scooters operate on their own. The question is if these motor vehicles are safe to operate in tight spaces with crowds. They are not.
There are people who may have weak or injured arms and cannot use a wheelchair and may not have someone to push them. These mobile scooters aren’t the problem in crowded areas. Crowds and tight spaces are the problem. People who are too packed together and aren’t able to politely move aside for a scooter user. I move over when possible when I see someone riding one in Walmart. I don’t offended and automatically assume it’s going to catch fire right there next to me

If it was only those who truly needed them that drove them, no one would have a problem with them. Almost none of the people in them actually need them. The scooters are not living beings that choose to make the mistakes! And if it’s crowded, it’s not the scooters or riders fault! No I do not drive a scooter. I see it is completely pointless to argue with you and obviously you have some PTSD from possibly being run over by a scooter as a child. All I can do is feel sorry for you at this point.
If you can’t even walk to the attraction, maybe you shouldn’t get on. We have already had numerous cases of death and serious injury because people boarded rides they should not have. It’s a liability and safety matter.
