Just days after filing demolition permits, Disneyland Resort has already built construction walls near the entrance to its original theme park. Earlier this week, the Southern California Disney park revealed it would bulldoze four original ticket booths to make way for a pedestrian bridge connecting to a new parking structure and transportation hub. Here’s what to know before your next visit to the Happiest Place on Earth.

On Tuesday, Disneyland Resort filed a construction permit notifying local authorities that it planned to demolish four 700-square-foot ticket booths on the Eastern side of the esplanade between Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park.

With the popularity of online ticket purchases and preplanned vacations, there is less need for an in-person location to purchase theme park admission. The removal of these four structures is the first step in constructing a pedestrian bridge leading to a new parking structure and transportation hub. The new parking structure will be built on the site of the current Manchester cast member parking lot off Disney Way and feature 6,000 parking spaces, 302 electric vehicle charging spaces, and a dedicated space for rideshare pickup, shuttles, security, and dedicated traffic access.

This isn’t the first time Disneyland Resort has demolished original ticket booths. Last year, the Southern California vacation destination demolished two ticket booths on the Western side of the esplanade to make way for the new Porto’s Bakery in the Downtown Disney District.

Guests who want to purchase Disneyland Resort admission in person can still do so at two remaining ticket booths or the Lost and Found office.

Just days after filing that demolition permit, the first signs of construction have appeared on the Eastern side of the esplanade between Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. On Thursday, WDWNT reported that construction walls now surround all four ticket booths:

For now, the ticket booths are still visible above the construction walls, and the decorative lights lining the roofline are still on.

Disneyland Resort has not said when it expects the ticket booth demolition to be complete.
