Beginning today, August 18, Disneyland Resort is kicking off its 2026 Oogie Boogie Bash season. That means thousands of guests will get several hours of Halloween entertainment inside the park.
But there’s an important catch.
If you don’t have a ticket to Oogie Boogie Bash, your night at Disney California Adventure is ending early. And if you arrive at the gates at 6:00 p.m. hoping to enter with a regular park ticket, you’re not getting in.
That won’t just happen tonight, either.
Oogie Boogie Bash runs on select nights throughout August, September, and October, and several dates have already sold out.
Disney California Adventure Is Closing Early to Regular Guests
Oogie Boogie Bash is a separately ticketed Halloween event held at Disney California Adventure.
On event nights, the party officially begins at 6:00 p.m. Once that happens, Disney California Adventure becomes exclusive to guests with Oogie Boogie Bash admission.
For anyone visiting with regular daytime admission, that means planning around a significantly shorter park day.
You can spend the morning and afternoon riding attractions, eating, shopping, and exploring Disney California Adventure. However, when the park transitions into Oogie Boogie Bash, guests without event admission have to leave.
The same restriction applies to anyone arriving later in the evening. A standard Disneyland Resort ticket or Magic Key does not provide access to the separately ticketed event.
That makes the Oogie Boogie Bash calendar particularly important for anyone planning a Disneyland vacation over the next couple of months.
Tonight’s Party Kicks Off a Busy Halloween Season
August 18 marks the beginning of this year’s Oogie Boogie Bash schedule.
The Halloween after-hours event brings special offerings to Disney California Adventure, including candy trails featuring Disney Villains, themed food, merchandise, and other event experiences.
Tickets for the August 18 event were originally listed at $139, according to the event availability.
Several additional dates have now sold out, including August 20 and August 27. September 1 has also sold out, along with October 13, October 20, and October 29. Those dates join other parties that had already reached capacity.
After the current sellouts, remaining dates range from $139 to $189, depending on the night.
In other words, there will be plenty of evenings when Disney California Adventure effectively becomes unavailable to anyone who didn’t purchase an Oogie Boogie Bash ticket before it sold out.
More Guests Will Be Turned Away in the Coming Weeks
The sold-out dates make this more than a one-night change.
Imagine arriving at Disneyland Resort for an evening visit, walking toward Disney California Adventure at 6:00 p.m., and discovering your regular admission won’t get you through the gates.
That’s exactly why checking the event calendar matters.
Guests who want a full evening inside Disney California Adventure may want to choose another date or spend the latter part of an Oogie Boogie Bash night at Disneyland Park instead.
This can be especially important for guests purchasing Park Hopper tickets. Hopping over to Disney California Adventure late in the day normally gives visitors another option for their evening. On an Oogie Boogie Bash night, however, that option disappears once the party takes over.
The good news is that the daytime portion of Disney California Adventure remains available to regular guests. You aren’t losing the entire day just because Oogie Boogie Bash is scheduled.
You’re simply losing the evening.
Oogie Boogie Bash Tickets Are Becoming Harder to Find
Anyone still hoping to attend Oogie Boogie Bash also has fewer options than before.
As of the latest availability included in the report, remaining dates included August 25 and August 30; September 3, 8, 10, 15, 17, 22, and 29; and October 1 and October 27. Prices ranged from $139 for August 25 to $189 for October 27.
Of course, availability can change quickly as more people purchase tickets.
The growing number of sold-out parties shows why guests shouldn’t assume they can simply decide to attend at the last minute.
Once a party sells out, guests without an Oogie Boogie Bash ticket will have no way to remain inside Disney California Adventure after the event begins.
Check Your Disneyland Dates Before Heading to the Park
For guests visiting Disneyland Resort over the next few months, Oogie Boogie Bash is one of those events that can completely change how you plan a park day.
Disney California Adventure may operate normally for much of the day, but 6:00 p.m. creates a firm dividing line on party nights.
