Here’s an idea…instead of gobbling up that 800+ acres of property to build a new theme park with the intent of just stuffing their already overcrowded wallets, maybe Disney should show that they actually CARE about something else besides their profit margin…donate the land as a wildlife preserve instead of tearing down wilderness homes of the native species that live there…even if it just 100 or 200 acres, I dont think that would impede anything and it’d STILL give Disney 600+ acres to develop…its bad enough that they’re literally GUTTING the “Magic Kingdom” of any magic it once held…ICONIC rides and attractions have been torn down and replaced by “trendy new attractions” most likely because Disney and their boujee visitors decided they were “too boring” or not interesting enough for Disney to turn a sizable profit. There’s absolutely NOTHING left at Disney anymore to warrant a visit, nevermind the EXORBITANT PRICE of airfare, accommodations and food. I ran a “test” to see how much a trip to Disney World would cost for a family of three for ONE WEEK…just airfare and accommodations came to almost $17,000…who in the absolute HELL has that kind of money just laying around? That pricetag didn’t even include PARK ENTRY COSTS! Disney has lost what it means to run “The Place Where Dreams Come True” because that place is completely and totally unaffordable and a shell of what it used to be. I first went to Disney World when I was around 5, then again in 89 and again in 2000…I noticed slight changes in 2000 but now there’s NOTHING left from any of my trips, and theres absolutely ZERO reason for me to return because I will undoubtedly be disappointed by the overwhelming corporate greed that destroyed this place
That would be interesting. But, I doubt that they’ll do it. Some people would be a bit upset if Disney bought the rites to Star Trek. They might start thinking that Disney would add Mickey Mouse as a character to Star Trek which makes no sense. But, if Disney did get the rites, it’ll be nice if they made at least one The Next Generation Movie (I know that Nemasis was a huge flop but, maybe if Disney made a movie it’ll succeed.).
I really hope its not another VR ride or rollercoaster. They seem to forget that many families with young kids and older grandparents go. These VR rides and rollercoaster are oftern not rideable by them and one person either ends up staying with the younger children or sitting outside the ride waiting for the family.
You have a good point there. They shouldn’t just make roller coasters. Maybe (since other theme parks are going it) they should make a hybrid of a roller coaster and a water flume ride. That’s becoming pretty popular. Or, make a ride like Dinosaur again but with different animals or something else.
That’ll be so cool if they did open a 5th park. Yes, it’ll give Universal and Sea World a run for their money again. I would love to see them dedicate at least some of the 5th park to all the “old school” rides/attractions. For example: Bring back The Great Movie Ride, Splash Mountain, Dinosaur, Mr Toads Wild Ride, World of Motion, The Backlot Tour, etc. Another part of the park could have rides that are hybrids. Rides that are part one thing and part another thing. I’ve seen some videos of rides that are part roller coster and part flume ride. That looks so cool. Maybe Disney can do that or maybe part coster part simulator ride. Something along those lines would be cool. Something thrilling but, not as intense as Cosmic Rewind. It would be cool if they did a ride of Pocahontas. There really isn’t much representation of her in the parks and she was a real person.
The issue with “More Bigger Parks!” is that it is getting to the point where you can’t see the entire park in a day.
That’s the issue with Epic. Get a one day pass, see just over half of it. Plus Universal doesn’t include Epic in “park hopping”. So you can park hop two parks (after being forced to ride that Harry Potter train because there is no alternative) but pay extra for Epic. It’s sad how UO tries desperately to compete with Disney, even calling its water park “the fourth park” on radio commercials. “Come see our FOUR parks!”
Disney adding an actual fifth park with a new theme all together would really put Universal- who doesn’t have space for any contingent parks- on its heels.
Maybe they could make a theme park that concentrates on the classic rides, with a price point that ALL families can afford. People can stay at existing resorts or build a couple ‘Value’ resorts that are a better value.
The only issue I would wonder about is the amount of land available vs. the amount of land that is to remain left untouched.
