At 1:21 p.m., the Orange County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call about an incident of “Battery (Unwanted Touching or Striking Someone)” at Disney’s Pop Century Resort. Scanner monitoring account @WDWActiveCrime shared the call log on X (formerly known as Twitter):

🚨 Police Alert 🚓 – 8/3/26 1:21 AM
🚨: Battery (Unwanted Touching or Striking Someone) at 📍: Disney’s Pop Century Resort

It’s unclear exactly where in the Value Resort hotel the battery incident occurred. Although the attached Google Maps screenshot pinpoints a roadway along the edge of Disney’s Pop Century Resort, it’s unlikely that the violent altercation actually took place there. Law enforcement responses at the Central Florida Disney parks and hotels are often logged at general addresses for each property rather than the exact coordinates of the incident.

Neither the Orange County Sheriff’s Office nor Walt Disney World Resort has issued a statement regarding the battery at Disney’s Pop Century Resort overnight. It’s unclear whether any guests were seriously injured, arrested, or banned from the Central Florida Disney parks following their involvement in the violent incident.

More information may become available if a police report is released or criminal charges are filed. However, Disney is unlikely to share any additional details or a statement about the battery incident.

Despite the incident overnight, operations are continuing normally at Disney’s Pop Century Resort. As far as we know, all guest amenities remain operational, and bus or Disney Skyliner transportation is available to Magic Kingdom Park, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, EPCOT, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, and Disney Springs.

In general, anyone who encounters a law enforcement or security response at Walt Disney World Resort is encouraged to follow all instructions from cast members and authorities on the scene. Give the area space and trust that Disney will do its best to prevent any unexpected interruptions to your vacation while protecting the privacy of those involved in emergencies.

What is the strangest thing you’ve ever seen at the Disney parks? Inside the Magic would love to hear from you in the comments!
