Star Wars also got a hotel (of sorts) just outside Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World Resort, although we know how that turned out. The Galactic Starcruiser crashed and burned like the Death Star after 18 months of operation (and deservedly so if you saw the price tags).
Why Hasn’t There Been a Jurassic Park Hotel at Universal Studios Before?
But why have we yet to see any Jurassic Park-themed accommodation at Universal Studios?
It’s a no-brainer. After all, Universal Studios destinations host a huge variety of Jurassic experiences that include rides such as Jurassic World: The Ride, VelociCoaster, and Pteranadon Flyers, and themed areas filled with other smaller attractions inspired by the iconic film series.
Imagine a Universal Orlando or Universal Hollywood hotel designed around the Visitor Center from Steven Spielberg’s 1993 film.
Grand wooden doors, a T. rex skeleton dominating a lavish atrium, a restaurant filled with all the Jell-O you could shake a spoon at, and a spiral staircase that takes you up to rooms, each individually themed with unique Jurassic Park decor. All of it spared no expense, of course.
Fortunately, fans will get to see a Jurassic Park resort hotel in an upcoming video game.
Jurassic Park: Survival (TBA), from Saber Interactive, is a first-person action-adventure title set just 24 hours after the 1993 film. That means you’ll be able to roam Isla Nublar in the direct aftermath of the dinosaur breakout, exploring familiar locations such as the Visitor Center and certain dinosaur enclosures, and never-before-seen areas like a resort hotel under construction.
Concept art also revealed in a behind-the-scenes video shared by Saber and Universal last year shows a sprawling resort hotel bordered by misty jungle and complete with a small lake, which is most likely inspired by the Safari Lodge from Michael Crichton’s original 1990 best-seller Jurassic Park. However, that hotel exists only off-screen in Spielberg’s 1993 film adaptation.
Whether Universal Studios will ever build a Jurassic Park hotel remains to be seen.
For now, there are currently no plans at all, but we can’t help but imagine reliving certain moments from the 1993 film, whether it’s exploring the Visitor Center (which could easily serve as the hotel’s lobby area) or checking out all the merchandise at the hotel’s very own gift shop.
A Jurassic Park hotel could also link parkgoers with the Jurassic attractions, similar to how Galactic Starcruiser transported its guests to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Universal Orlando does offer Jurassic World Kids’ Suites at Loews Royal Pacific Resort, but they’re a far cry from the fully themed Jurassic Park hotel fans have imagined for decades.

The official synopsis for Jurassic Park: Survival states:
“Return to Isla Nublar the day after the events of the beloved 1993 Jurassic Park film in an original adventure 65 million years in the making. Survive thrilling first-person action as InGen scientist Dr. Maya Joshi, who was unable to evacuate Isla Nublar, in this single-player action-adventure game and discover a never-before-told story. Through thrilling encounters, experience the wonder and danger of dinosaurs, each with their own distinct and adaptive behaviors brought to life by John Hammond’s vision.”
The game will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. There’s no release date.
