There’s a New Way to Get Epic Universe’s Most Wanted Food

When Universal Epic Universe opened its gates, the headlines were all about the attractions. The portals, the coasters, the immersive lands, all of it dominated the conversation, and understandably so. But anyone who has actually spent a day in Universal Orlando Resort’s newest park knows that one of its biggest surprises had nothing to do with a ride vehicle. It came out of a pizza oven.

Pizza Moon, the celestial pizzeria sitting in the heart of Celestial Park near the portal to SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, has captured the hearts of guests from opening day. Housed in what Universal describes as an early-1900s Victorian theater converted into a spectacular eatery, the restaurant quickly earned a reputation as the home of the finest pizzas in Epic Universe, with the company cheekily claiming the moon really is made of cheese and pepperoni. The only downside to that kind of popularity is the obvious one. Everybody wants in, and stepping inside to order a pie can eat up precious park time. Now, Universal has rolled out a solution that makes one of the park’s fan-favorite dining spots more accessible than ever.

A New Epic Universe Pick-Up Stand Changes the Game

Guests strolling through Celestial Park will now notice a Pizza Moon pick-up stand located right outside the restaurant, along the walkway. The concept is beautifully simple. Instead of entering the restaurant, waiting to order, and finding a table, guests can now mobile order through the Universal Orlando Resort app and grab their pizza on the go.

To use it, open the app and look for Pizza Moon Pickup, a separate listing from the main restaurant. Place your order, walk up when it is ready, and carry your pie off to wherever the day takes you next, whether that is a bench with a view of Celestial Park’s fountains or a spot near the Super Nintendo World portal while the rest of your group finishes a ride.

What’s on the Pick-Up Menu

The pick-up menu is intentionally streamlined, focusing on the greatest hits. Two 12 inch pizzas are available: the Pizza Moon Pepperoni and the Harvest Moon. Dessert fans are covered too, with the Brownie Eclipse available for pick-up, and the stand also offers bottled beverages and canned beer for anyone who wants to turn their pizza stop into a proper break.

It is worth noting that the full Pizza Moon menu remains available inside the restaurant itself, so guests who want the complete sit-down experience, from a basic cheese pie to the works, can still get it. The pick-up stand simply adds a faster lane for guests who want great pizza without the wait.

Part of a Bigger Pattern at Epic Universe

What makes this addition especially interesting is that it is not happening in isolation. Just steps away in Celestial Park, the pick-up window that once served Meteor Astropub orders was recently transformed into Satellite Shakes, a dedicated grab-and-go location for over-the-top specialty milkshakes like Captain Cacao’s Starlight Voyage and the Astronomer’s Strawberry Shortcake. Meteor Astropub now handles table delivery exclusively, while the shake window serves the walk-up crowd.

Put the two changes together and a clear strategy emerges. More than a year into operation, Universal is actively refining how food moves through Epic Universe, converting and adding pick-up points so guests spend less time standing in lines and more time enjoying the park. For a destination still finding its rhythm after welcoming millions of visitors, these quiet operational upgrades say as much about the park’s future as any attraction announcement.

Why This Matters for Your Next Visit

Anyone who has toured a theme park with hungry kids, or tried to squeeze lunch between ride reservations, understands exactly why this matters. Mobile ordering with dedicated pick-up turns a 45 minute dining detour into a five minute errand. It also spreads crowds more evenly, easing congestion inside the restaurant for guests who do want the full dine-in experience of that gorgeous Victorian theater setting.

For planning purposes, remember the essentials. The stand sits right outside Pizza Moon in Celestial Park, the app listing is Pizza Moon Pickup, and the menu covers the two 12 inch pizzas, the Brownie Eclipse, bottled drinks, and canned beer. If your group wants anything beyond that lineup, head inside instead.

Epic Universe keeps proving that opening day was never the finish line. With new pick-up stands, converted windows, and menu tweaks popping up throughout Celestial Park, the park is evolving in real time, and the guest experience keeps getting smoother as of result. A beloved pizza spot becoming easier to enjoy might not grab headlines the way a new coaster does, but for the average family spending a hot summer day in the park, it might be the upgrade they appreciate most. The moon, as it turns out, is now available to go.
