Overnight, a TikTok video from @coachbragg amassed thousands of views. It showed guests evacuating the queue, loading, and unloading area on “it’s a small world” at Magic Kingdom Park as smoke filled the area.

Initially, the only accounts of the fire came from unverified Disney cast members and guests on social media. Many claimed that a guest’s MagSafe portable phone charger had ignited inside a bag on the floor of an “it’s a small world” boat at the end of the ride, right before it docked in the unloading area.
Walt Disney World Resort rarely issues statements about emergency responses at its theme parks and hotels, so no one expected the Central Florida vacation destination to speak out about this incident on “it’s a small world.” To everyone’s surprise, they did.
What Disney Had to Say
On Thursday, theme park journalist and digital creator Ashley Carter (@AshleyLCarter1) shared a statement from Walt Disney World Resort regarding the “it’s a small world” fire on X (formerly known as Twitter). The Central Florida Disney park confirmed the unverified accounts, stating that a guest’s phone charger had sparked a fire, a Disney cast member quickly extinguished it before firefighters arrived, and the Magic Kingdom Park attraction reopened a few hours later after necessary safety checks were complete.

Thankfully, there were no injuries during this incident on “it’s a small world” on Wednesday. The Fantasyland attraction continued to operate normally on Thursday, July 2.
