Moana did not need a remake

Maybe stop remaking live action disney movies I’m still going see it because he is one of my favorite actors

      1. Lilla

        My sympathies

  2. Helen

The original movie is only ten years old. Too soon for a remake and didn’t have to have one in the first place. Way to drain franchises and tire people out on them, Disney!

Just because a celebrity voices a cartoon character doesn’t mean they can play them in “live action”. Seeing rock in a body suit and wig was extremely cringey to everyone! I will say that the vocal music that’s already been released is good, I’ll say that for it.

Shoulda just cancelled the movie but released the soundtrack instead

      1. Paula

Save your money by skipping the movie and buy the soundtrack instead, the music from Moana has yet to disappoint

What can I say except, why did we need this?

    1. Lynn

We, the audience with the money, did not. Only Disney feels that everything ‘needs’ a remake. And they definitely will not learn from this and continue to remake everything. It’s the only thing they know how to do now. The imagination of originality is truly gone. Unless you care for cookie cutter chick flicks like Hexed which is too much like Wish, Encanto and Turning Red

Whoa those are some bad numbers, lol! Hope Disney learns their lesson this time but I really doubt it. You don’t remake a movie that’s not even old enough to drive! You don’t have to remake every blessed movie anyway! And stop calling live action “live” when only the humans and maybe ten to fifteen percent of the background is actually “live”. The rest is CGI on a green screen. That’s another thing, you don’t remake a movie that’s already 3D CGI animated!

  6. Paula

At least the music is beautiful. I might give the movie a chance just for a laugh if I find it in one of those five dollar DVD bins in Walmart someday. If they even bother putting it on DVD

45-60 M opening is hilarious! Yes, we are tired of remakes! Not that Disney cares! I don’t care how much the Lilo and Stitch one made, I’ve read comments from people who have wised up as to how really bad it was. I’ll be boycotting the Tangled remake as well. I wasn’t fond of the original anyway.

    1. Keep It Real

That’s drastic tracking that’s for sure! Not even the gul lible little shills can save this! Ha ha!

  8. Christopher

I’ve seen only two of Disney’s remakes just for the animal action. Otherwise their stories and changes sucked and I stopped watching their watery remakes since. These remakes are not even nostalgic. You want nostalgia? Go watch the original.

The first movie is not even cold yet and already they gotta trash the franchise with live action

  10. Yesterday

Should’ve cancelled the movie the instant backslash started when it was first announced. The customer (the majority audience) is always right. They had cancelled tangled remake at first after Snow Brown failed but oh no gotta ignore the audience and keep losing money

Proud to be doing my part to help it tank. The more we fight live action remakes, the less of them we might get! Hopefully! 🤞🏻

I have Moana at home. No need to see this!

  13. Lilla

The Rock starred in a Hannah Montana episode where Miley was going to be paid for taking a photo of him looking embarrassing. She and Lily dressed him up in makeup and a blonde wig. After realizing he’d been humiliated, he was looking at himself in the mirror and said, Look at me, I look like Grandma Rock!
That’s exactly what he looks like in this movie. Grandma Rock.

  14. Joe

What can I say except, no thank you. Why are you doing this, Disney, WHY?

    1. Mary

Disney: We thought we’d make money! 🤑

Big Disney Fan here. I feel the Live action movies themselves are not to be the total reason the box office is struggling, but the fact that it will cost the average family of 4 over $25 a head to go on an opening weekend. Can’t forget the add-ons like popcorn and drinks. Shoot concessions is probably the biggest expense. Movie critics I don’t always agree with. If Disney stops making the Live action movies what kind of non violent movies will be made. And by non-violent I mean no graphic murder mayhem or blood & guts. Why can’t movies be made without a political agenda or pushing non-traditional values on the public. Just saying.

Don’t blame theater prices when movies like Obsession and Scary Movie 6 profit. People just have live action fatigue and Rock fatigue

I liked the remake of “Moana” and think there should be a sequel to that, as well as a third film of the animated “Moana” and the third one should have Moana find a male love interest and Maui find a female love interest, and the sequel or threequel to the live action “Moana” should include that as well.

Just saw the new Moana, Loved It. Can’t compare this to Snow White which was just bad. Combined to many princess traits and strayed way to far from the original.
