Deferred donors will not receive a ticket but will be offered a different incentive. It is a straightforward offer: give blood during the designated window, get a free entry to one of the most celebrated theme parks in the Southeast.
The Blood Donation Offer Details
The offer is active from July 20 through July 24. Successful donors receive a single Dollywood ticket valid through January 3, 2027. That validity window is significant because it covers Dollywood’s fall harvest season and its famous Smoky Mountain Christmas event, both of which are popular enough that the ticket represents meaningful value beyond a summer visit.
Deferred donors, those who are not eligible to donate during a given attempt, will receive a separate incentive rather than the Dollywood ticket. MEDIC has not specified what that incentive is, but the primary offer is clear: a successful donation earns a free park ticket.
Blood supply tends to run low during summer months when regular donors are traveling and donation appointments are harder to schedule. Events like this one are designed to address that gap, and the free Dollywood ticket is a more substantive incentive than most blood drives offer. What Is Happening at Dollywood Right Now

Whether you’re coming for the rides, the food, the shows or just to spend time together as a family, guests can create memories that last a lifetime. Plus enjoy our sweet summer nights where you learn and participate in line dancing. The fun is endless.”
NightFlight Expedition, the park’s nighttime drone and lighting spectacular, is one of the featured summer experiences. Ramey described it as “unlike anything else in the region,” noting that “the combination of drones, music and storytelling creates a breathtaking experience that guests talk about long after their visit.”
Neon Nights brings a different kind of after-dark experience to Wildwood Grove, the nature-themed area of the park designed for families and younger guests.
Thousands of vibrant lights transform the area into what Ramey called “a bright, immersive world that gives guests another reason to stay and enjoy the park after sunset.” The nighttime version of Wildwood Grove under the Neon Nights display is a meaningfully different experience from the same area during daylight hours.
Both NightFlight Expedition and Neon Nights are limited to the Summer Celebration period, making the final weeks of summer a specific window that will not be available year-round.
The Ride Version of NightFlight Expedition Is Still Coming
Separate from the drone and lighting spectacular, Dollywood has been building an indoor adventure coaster also called NightFlight Expedition, which represents the park’s largest ride ever.
The coaster-flume hybrid is being constructed inside a 44,000-square-foot building in Wildwood Grove and will feature nearly a quarter mile of track. It is designed to reach a maximum speed of 29 miles per hour over a five-and-a-half-minute ride, with a minimum height requirement of 39 inches.
The ride’s description positions it as a cross between a roller coaster and a whitewater river ride, taking guests on a journey through a narrative about Secret Lake that involves Smoky Mountain scenery, dramatic rapids, rugged ridges, and bioluminescent water effects.
Dollywood Parks and Resorts President Eugene Naughton originally targeted a spring 2026 opening that did not materialize. The current target is mid-August 2026, which means the ride could open within weeks of guests using tickets earned through this week’s MEDIC blood drive.
If NightFlight Expedition opens before the summer ends, it adds a significant new attraction to an already strong summer lineup.
What This Means for a Summer Theme Park Visit
Dollywood is not a Disney park and is not trying to be. It is doing something different and doing it extremely well, and for families looking at summer theme park options in the Southeast, it offers a genuine alternative to the Florida destination parks that requires serious consideration.
