It’s going to be much harder to get locals back into those restaurants and bars once it’s been made clear they aren’t wanted. Disney is causing generational damage to their brand, all to cut some bus and boat costs.

They can make a dining reservation, or a experiences reservation. Not that hard to do.

Not for those themed bars Disney loves so much. Not for quick service. Not for the gift shops.

The people paying top dollar to stay at those resorts should have priority over the locals who seem to believe that Disney is some sort of municipal amenity that they have a God-given right to access.

Stop posting under different names to make it look like people agree with you.

Removing the gingerbread house and the wondrous Easter egg displays at the Grand Floridian make the hotel as it is refreshed much more of a typical upscale resort hotel one can find anywhere and often at a better price. And restricting visitors may save money over the short-term but over the long term less people will visit, less people will spend money, and Disney has lost its ability for a long time respect of wondrous traditions just to make the almighty dollar. I have already changed my plans for holiday visitation and will stay off property, visit other places of interest and carve out a new way of visiting Disney and Orlando.

The part no one has mentioned is how this will crater DVC sales. If I owned DVC (hahahahaha no), I would be selling right away. One of the biggest draws to that program is people resort hopping, seeing the place, seeing the models, and signing up.

That’s gone now, right when they’re about to dump thousands of new units onto the market. Disney doesn’t care, but DVC owners are about to take the hit, hard.

  4. We used to stay other places but loved to check out the disney hotels to see what we were missing. On one trip we liked what we saw so much that we changed our reservation to a disney hotel mid trip. Disney risks losing that sort of new customer.

Question: We are coming in October and will be staying at Saratoga Springs. If we take the boat to Port Orleans Riverside to see Yee Hah Bob is that allowed? Will we be able to get back to Disney Springs to Catch a Bus back to Saratoga Springs that night?
