While Disney has not officially said, the new restrictions regarding the transportation to and from Disney Springs and the Resorts seems to have at heart a different cause. I’ve seen a few Cast Members state that its really about the pools. Apparently an internet life hack taught teens and families that you can drop the kids off at Disney Springs so they can spend the day at Disney Resort Pools for free. Creating large energetic and unmanageable groups of teens disrupting the experiences for the resort guests. Rather than constantly getting local law enforcement involved Disney opted to just end the free transport hack that was bringing them in. It’s basically the same reason teenagers are being banned from Malls.
There’s literally no evidence for that. Zero. Stop making excuses for Disney’s abusive practices. It’s disgusting.
More importantly, if there was any truth at all to that assertion, what they’ve done was the wrong solution to the so-called problem. They managed to take out a significant portion of business at their resorts with the change and the subsequent anger from passholders who have been essentially told they don’t count and can’t use a service they paid for.
This decision literally cost Disney millions already. Getting that business back will not be easy. Meanwhile, it’s just as easy to drop someone off at a park as it is to drop them off at Disney Springs.
Nah. If Disney was losing any money due to this bus ban, then they wouldn’t do it. They are in the business of making money, that’s it. They did their math. Cry all you want, stomp your feet, hold your breath. It’ll do no good. You can say “well, I’ll stop spending my time and money there,” but you already acknowledged They don’t care about YOU, so again, too bad so sad…except for the on-site guests!
It did lose them money. That’s obvious if you cared to look. The question is if they are OK with that because now they can cut transport or not. Even if they are, the end result will be less services and higher costs for you tourists.
TheObvious–Disney is clearly not losing anything with this policy change. The resort stores and restaurants are still bustling. As a compassionate person, I will add: Sorry that your free ride has been taken away.
Paying guests at Disney resorts can scan their Magic bands for free transportation.
For Guests who are not staying on site, Disney should offer a transportation option where the visitors can purchase a daily or weekly transportation pass at Disney Springs.
Pools should only be accessible by Guests currently staying at their Disney resort by Magic Band only.
I’ve seen enough of how the people cheering this sort of thing behave that not much courtesy is going to be given. You can see it yourself in the other comments here. Perhaps you don’t feel that way, but that’s the discussion you entered into and you’re not exactly convincing me I was wrong by repeating the “freeloaders” slur against locals and complaining you have to wait behind guests that aren’t in your mind “valid” guests.
As it stands, passholders are not included, and leaks suggest Disney at least planned to add further restrictions to passholders (before this cratered their resort traffic).
But how am I supposed to take this?

That’s clear wording. You chose it. What you suggested is far more restrictive than what currently exists and would demand passholders pay as well. If that’s not what you meant, how was I supposed to know that?
There’s also a discussion to be had about how even the people who aren’t passholders that parked at Disney springs, took a bus to a resort, and then spent money at that resort’s bars, restaurants, and stores actually have paid for something.

That’s absolutely false, but go ahead and lie. Disney has the real numbers and the photos don’t lie like you do, either.
Also, it isn’t free. Using Disney transportation was literally sold as part of annual passes. Now they’re trying to restrict that.

The move by Disney is to try and stop Freeloaders from clogging up the transportation when valid guests need to get back to their resort.
I agree that Annual Passholders should have the transportation option.

I previously agreed with you that Annual Passholders should be allowed to use all transportation.
Disney tourists that stay on site have paid thousands of dollars for that privilege and all it entails, that is an undeniable fact.
It sounds like YOU begrudge the paying guests.
If it wasn’t for the “Tourists” Disney wouldn’t survive and YOU wouldn’t be an annual pass holder.
