I used to be DVC with 3 contracts; Hawaii, 2 Old Key West. I sold them because I could no longer get the dates I wanted. It became extremely difficult to even get a studio. I recall the days where points were low enough to where I could easily book 3 nights in a 2 bdrm Villa. All I have now are the memories 👍. I don’t regret selling.
We stay at Universal. That boat into the parks… or that crowded monorail queue.
It’s not disney but scratches that theme park itch. We stayed offsite last few times, was worth it.
A disney trip for a UK family can easily exceed 18k dollars, whereas our universal in a few weeks is 6k, so, it’s a no brainer.
But to those of us who have had passes for over a decade, and didn’t renew when they expired in 2021, Disney we used to love isn’t what Disney is anymore.
Guess what’s gonna happen? That $125/night in off season at Value Resorts just got more expensive. If you think Disney won’t increase the prices there to make up for losses at the Deluxe or even Moderate? You’re mistaken. The Value will climb during peak season to the price of Pop Century of $250 a night. It’s sad because when I wanted to do a staycation from Sunday to Wednesday, I only paid $500 bucks for 4 nights at Music. Those days are over.
I just come here to rant because I’m off my medication and want to feel accepted by others who are also off their medication and say things like “walt is turning in his grave” or “the magic is gone” or “I won’t renew my passes again” or bla bla bla…you people are funny, thank you.

We are DVC members and can stay deluxe but cannot afford to purchase park tickets, lightning lanes and party tickets. So this year parties lost out.
