I didn’t even watch the second Moana. Saw no need to. The first was all I needed to be satisfied with the franchise. I’ll be boycotting the remake and the third installment to the original.
When will Disney ever stop milking franchises dry? Moana, while I still have girlboss fatigue, was fine enough as a stand alone film. It did not need a sequel, it certainly doesn’t need another one and absolutely did not need a remake. Especially so soon.
If by chance in a few years I find the moana remake in a five dollar bargain bin I might give it a chance but I’m not about to waste money in a theater for a movie that came out only ten years ago and has only five percent less CGI than the original. And the Rock in that wig and body suit? So cringey!
I want nothing to do with the remake but I’m here to say I recently listened to the songs and I recommend at least praising that. I’m not a fan of the longer, English version of Along the Way, but the shorter Polynesian version is very good. Matter of fact, a couple of the songs, like Where You Are is actually a little better than the original. Not quite as childish. Anyway, even if you agree the movie is garbage, the music is totally gold and worth your listening! Have a great day! 🏝️
Lol looks to me like everyone agrees the music is better than the films! Oh the first Moana (yeah I’m so freaking tired of having to say either original or remake with Disney movies!) was a great original story but I didn’t see the point to a sequel except I bought the music. I’ll be anticipating the score/instrumentals music from the remake and when the third comes out I’ll get the music from that for sure even if I already plan to pass on watching it, at least in theaters.

Not a girlboss daughter who I guess now is a demi-godesss even more prepared to kick sea monster behind. Then her sister will become a girlboss herself and save her island & people by the fourth or fifth sequel. 😞
Unless by chance her and Maui get romantically involved in the third I won’t be watching that one either.
I’m a girl and I to was disappointed that she could’ve had a brother instead of some bold sister like herself. I realize Moana is targeted for girls but I get tired of too much “femaleness” in my stuff. In other words I have “female fatigue”. I passed on toy story 5 for the same reason. I love jessie but I wont stand for her leading an army to rescue a female ipad. I didn’t appreciate seeing bo peep lead the group in the previous. Never once felt that toy story was just for boys. My biggest complaint now is that everything is becoming a girl’s brand and men are becoming weaker, whimpier characters.
No thank you to Moana 3. No thank you to Temu Moana and Maui. But going by everyone else here the music is at least decent. I just wish Disney would stop putting out five sequels and at least one remake to every movie they make anymore.

I hope people will have the smarts to avoid the remake but I do recommend the music from it. It’s very good. Can’t wait for them to release the score!

The music is great! There are a few Polynesian tracks that were in the original that didn’t get redone unfortunately but the main ones are still there
