It’s time to stop the remakes now. But even Disney’s original stories are junk. They’re either sequels, cookie cutter chick flicks and/or thrown together slop like Mufasa

    Pure Ai Disney grade 💩

My local theater had, “Moana: starring The Rock” on the sign. I guess they thought putting “starring The Rock” would help draw people in, lol. They should’ve put, “starring The Rock in a bad Maui outfit”

      Moana: Starring Grandma Rock
      (Hannah Montana reference)

Please oh please let this be the end of remakes! Except we unfortunately have the Tangled remake that needs cancelling! Please people you’ve got to boycott that and make it lose money to otherwise Disney will get the bighead again and do more!

I’m so glad this failed. No one asked for it in the first place and you do not remake movies that are only ten years old.

I cannot wait for 2D hand drawn animated remakes to the live action CGI remakes to the original animated movies!!

I’ve only seen two remakes Disney ever put out; the first one being Lion King. Didn’t run to the theater for either one of them, I waited for the DVDs. The animal CGI action
was great but as for story, humor and dialogue it was just soulless. Even some of the remade original songs were downright flat. Never watched another remake after those. Not even the HTTYD one. They’re just dull and lifeless in comparison to the original animated classics. They could’ve been really good, however, if written better and casted better. Just saying.

I know what you mean about the Lion King remake. When I first watched it I had high hopes for it. Yes, the visuals and animals were great (altho it would’ve been nice to have had real scenes of African grasslands instead of being completely computer imaging) and I thoroughly enjoyed watching it the first couple of times. But things started sinking in the more times I watched it like as to how, like you said, the dialogue was flat. People complained as to how un-expressive the animals looked but my biggest complaint was the lack of emotion in the voice. There was no…brightness or pep or emphasis in anything. The cast choices were terrible. I mean it was great having James Earl Jones (R.I.P) back but by that time the man was too old for that role and sounded more like Simba’s grandfather. Surabi sounded like a grouch. Timon has a woke voice. Pumbaa is just awful and I loathe Seth Rogans fart jokes. Rafiki is pretty good but lacked pep of the original. He was better in the Mufasa prequel/sequel I think. (The Mufasa movie is more like fanfiction to me) Adult Simba was ok, but even adult Nala lacked. Scar’s voice was pretty tolerable but oh my goodness the Be Prepared song sounded more like a musical speech. That was just downright bad.

I know right? I’m like just drop the woke, quit raceswapping, genderswapping, use less CGI, pick better people for the roles and follow the original story more closely and these remakes could’ve been really decent! Lilo and Stitch was just awful! How dare the teach that families should dump little kids off on someone else and go to college in another state overseas yet! And girlboss Lilo saving Stitch rather than Stitch saving Lilo was suck! And having Jumbaa and Pleakley be disguised as real humans wasn’t near as funny as them trying to wear wigs and clothes in the cartoon! The only thing worth laughing about was Jumbaa repeatedly falling through the portal holes in his ship. Where’s the hearty humor in all these remakes? Where’s the heart and soul of a good moral story anymore?!

We can’t have “good moral stories” in our entertainment anymore, its always the same old preachy leftwing messages like ‘females are superior, anybody can be portrayed and represented by anybody, there’s no such thing as evil only misunderstood people, drunk superheros are good role models and accept everybody’ and we’re expected to consume it and give our money for it and we’re blasted by the directors or actors when we don’t! See this is why I don’t go to the theater anymore for anything. I’m not gonna give my money to people who prefer me dead but expect my money and viewership anyway. Actually, trash like Supergirl and Odyssey are exactly why people are running back to classic entertainment from the 90’s and earlier. Most of what I watch is 50’s-80’s content and I born in the 90’s!

I’m a woman and I enjoy police/drama and sci-fi stuff from the sixties through eighties thats targeted for men. Why, do you ask? It’s because I enjoy watching men save the day. Cute, chiv alrous hunky men in uniform like Frank Poncherello and Captain Kirk saving the women, cleaning up evil-doers and such. Thanks to modern Hollyweird I’ve got female fatigue. As I woman I do enjoy a strong female character that doesn’t faint at the sight of a mouse but I’m tired of every female kicking butt and taking names kind of thing you know? I can’t even watch new Hallmark romances or mysteries anymore because it’s all too political now

I gave the Mufasa movie a chance and I was shocked and I do mean shocked that Disney allowed a female character to get injured and required rescuing by a strong male, after which she was infatuated by him. (After she realized it wasn’t Taka that saved her) Disney usually strives to make out like females are stronger in mind and wits than men while men are just weak sidekicks to follow them around like they’ve done to the Toy Story brand. What they’ve done to both Woody and Buzz was unacceptable to me.
And while I was able to tolerate the original Moana I skipped the second one with ease despite a family member trying to pressure me because when I heard the plot sounded too much like the first I didn’t see the point. At first I was hoping she and Maui might end up being a thing but no they haven’t gone that route for Miss Island Saver yet. Besides, Moana would’ve done just fine as a stand alone. It didn’t require a sequel at all. Disney just likes milking things

    Dear Disney,

No more stinking freaking remakes unless you learn to do them right!!
