What do I think is Disney’s biggest failure? Itself. I agree about the sequels. I’m sick of everything Disney makes being either a sequel or a live action remake. Even when some of the remakes like Snow Not White, Little Black Mermaid, Mulan and now Moana fail they still keep coming on strong with them. Sequels to. But as someone with a brain I know when and how to stop watching. If Disney can only do remakes and sequels and spin-offs and prequels and inbetweenquels and villain and hero backstories then by all means they’re dead to me. I’ll stick to the originals and first movies to the franchise and pretend like the continuing sequels are fanfiction slop.
Most of the junk that comes out of Hollyweird is a left-wingers fanfiction like The Oddity that’s why I don’t watch hardly anything made today I don’t care who’s in it or who directed it; so many people are going back to watching classics again it’s amazing!
Classic movies are fun, and some really well made. I did see Odyssey today. I like period movies as well. Didn’t see Oppenheimer from the subject matter. I’m sure it was a well make flick, but not interested in how that bomb was made. Odyssey was also very well made, good acting, great locations. I knew bits of the story but not all. I’m not about to read it to compare, lol. Those three hours flew by. I like going to the movies in the summer to beat the heat.
That movie is indeed a mockery to Greek culture and history. It’s ashame that anyone would support that. It’s only made as much as it has so far because IMAX tickets are nearly double the price of regular tickets and many of them were pre-ordered before the controversy grew. I’m hoping it will tank very hard by next weekend. The country of Greece does not deserve Nolan’s parody of their ancestral story
Boy I’ll say. The company began to fail the instant Walt passed away and the company not only went woke but greedy by raising prices so only the filthy rich elite can get in and too much red tape, turned racist, tries to own or be affiliated with all the streaming services and broadcasting networks and did away with hand drawn art cartoon movies and started remaking everything in Walt’s vault into CGI slop just to push agenda onto our innocent children
Disney used to be so much better 21 years ago. I know we did get a lot of dumbed down sequels to the cartoon movies back then to but seeing the sickening garbage they put out now I’d say I owed those sequels an apology
Yeah those were the days. Fox and the Hound 2, Bambi 2, Jungle Book 2, Lion King 2 & 1 1/2, Brother Bear 2, Cinderella 2 & 3, Beauty and the Beast 2 (more like a Christmas special)… I watched every single one of those growing up and while I can agree about them being more dumbed down for kids and I wasn’t as crazy about them like I was the originals I to would happily rewatch them now because they at least didn’t have political messaging in them, they were written better and had more humor than the cheesy slop Disney makes now. So sad how far they’ve fallen just since I was kid.
One more!! Tarzan 2! Yep we lived in the golden era of “2” movies back then, lol. Looking back I’d have to say that Disney may have begun to lose their creativity for originality back then because now we live in the golden era of remakes and sequels 3-5
No, that definitely doesn’t mean Toy Story 5 was good, it was total trash and thanks to the spineless shills that supported it we’ll get Toy Story 10 someday
The first two Toy Storys are literally the best. While I can tolerate the third, the fourth and fifth are purely fanfiction and poorly written at that. And yes Mark unfortunately you’re right. Because people can’t control themselves just because “it’s Toy Story” we’ll continue getting watery sequels until the cows come. I had high hopes when I first heard about the fifth that the toys would be given back to Andy but unfortunately Disney continues to disappoint. Perhaps the next installment will be about Woody trying to save children from AI takeover. If not that, it’ll be about them trying to rehome themselves by travelling to the Santa’s Workshop, lol
Eisner was the best leader Disney had after Walt and when I take over Disney myself, I will erase all traces of Iger the Terrible to make Disney great again. It will be almost as if Eisner returned and I will bring back the good aspects of his tenure like having Disney Stores in most malls, elaborate theming in resorts, and keeping Disney as just an animation studio with some theme parks instead of a multinational conglomerate which it will cease to be anyway as it’s being broken up as a monopoly.

Fun fact: Disney is still failing it’s audience

Ain’t that the truth!

You left out 101 Dalmations 2 and Little Mermaid 2
Amy
Oh and Peter Pan 2 and Mulan 2. If I think of anymore I’ll come back, lol 🤣
Amy
Yep, just thought of another one. Kronks New Groove which was a sequel to Emperor’s.

Oh dear I remembered yet another one: Lady and the Tramp 2

More Treasure Planet and Atlantis for me!
Tim
Then how’s about stop failing us with trash like Temu Moana and Feminist Toy Story 5 and go back to original and 2D animated stuff like Brother Bear?!
Bert
I saw the first three TS movies and that was enough. Granted, five IS the biggest grossing movie of the year so far. Doesn’t mean I’ll see it.
