Aren’t we doing this today already? The My Disney Experience app is the central hub for tickets, scheduling, wait times, etc. And you can place your tickets in your wallet which will replicate to your watch (at least on the Apple side).

From a not looking at a device perspective, you just need to take out your phone for entry or lightning lanes to scan. Or just use your watch like you do a MagicBand. Once you’re at the park the phone can be no different than a card and the watch can be no different than the MagicBand.

No Thank you! What I loved about my Disney Trips was that I could disconnect from the world. Now, I have the “world” in my hand AT ALL TIMES! Tell Disney to bring less to the phone, NOT MORE! I know – I will be in the minority on this – but that’s MY opinion! 🙂

You’re not alone! I HATE hating have to take my phone out constantly to open doors, get into parks, lighting lanes, etc. I enjoy the magic band convenience and ease! And I want to be immersed in the excitement and actually SEE what’s going on, not constantly in my phone! Not to mention, having to carry extra charging devices to keep the phone charged to do everything! I just want to be ON VACATION and not worry about anything!

I don’t like having everything on my phone. It causes my battery to go low and what happens if my phone dies and I need to scan my ticket? I don’t like having to carry a charger around to get lost, or having to search for a place to plug it in. I like to be able to just use my band. Also, what about pictures? If you get photo pass, pictures automatically go with the magic band, how will they now automatically go into your photo pass?

You’re right — nothing is mentioned about photopass! I feel the same! Disney is going in the wrong direction trying to force everyone on their phones constantly! So many arguments happen when people are standing or walking around on their phones, or holding up lines trying to access something on yheir phones! And, what about people who don’t have iphones? I will NEVER have an iPhone, I am an android girl! I feel the same way about the DVC cards. I hate the digital card and really miss the physical card! Alot of places ask for you ID as well, so it’s East to take them both out at once!

What about kids that are like 7-10 years old and don’t have a phone? What exactly will they do? Sometimes you have to scan twice in a queue, and older kids can ride by themselves, but do not have a cell phone or smartwatch. What will they do and how will they be able to ride without the MagicBand??

It’s been about 5 years since we visited Walt Disney World, but at that time the internet connection was frequently hit and miss, especially during crowded times. Has the reception improved?
