Something new is visible above the construction walls surrounding the former Refreshment Port Quick-Service dining location in the EPCOT World Showcase. This update comes after Walt Disney World Resort and Air Canada announced that they were collaborating on a new restaurant in the building, which will eventually be part of the Canada Pavilion.

La Poutinerie Takes Over Refreshment Port

Refreshment Port, the kiosk near the World Celebration entrance to the EPCOT World Showcase, known for its DOLE Whip soft serve and specialty poutine, closed in January 2026. It wasn’t until May that Walt Disney World Resort announced that a new dining location, La Poutinerie, would open in its place.

La Poutinerie, sponsored by Air Canada, will also focus on specialty poutines and other Canadian treats. The update will absorb the former Refreshment Port building into the Canada World Showcase Pavilion at EPCOT.

While La Poutinerie will obviously serve poutine, it’s unclear whether it will maintain other menu items from Refreshment Port, like DOLE Whip.

At the same time, Air Canada also announced that it would sponsor a new fireworks-viewing area in the China World Showcase Pavilion at EPCOT. Aeroplan Members have exclusive access to the reserved viewing for Luminous The Symphony of Us.

On June 4, WDWNT reported that stone work was visible on two supporting pillars on the former Refreshment Port building. The misshapen stones appear to have been pieced together by hand, and will presumably be sealed before the restaurant opens. Crews also recently repainted the roof gray.

After testing copper and gray paint on the roof of the future La Poutinerie, Disney seems to have settled on the gray color. After finishing up the roof, crews removed the former Refreshment Port signage from the building.

The image shows a picturesque area featuring tall wooden totem poles and intricate carvings on a wooden structure, reminiscent of a forgotten park. In the background, there's a castle-like stone building under a partly cloudy sky, with trees flanking the sides. A few people are seen walking in the distance.

Walt Disney World Resort hasn’t announced a grand opening date for La Poutinerie in the Canada World Showcase Pavilion at EPCOT.
