Last year, despite receiving mixed to negative reviews, Jurassic World Rebirth grossed $869.1 million worldwide, which all but guaranteed another sequel for the long-running Jurassic series.
The film stars Scarlett Johansson as covert ops expert Zora Bennett and Jonathan Bailey as paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis, who are tasked by big pharma rep Martin Krebs (Rupert Friend) to lead an expedition to an abandoned InGen island named Ile Saint-Hubert, where they must retrieve life-changing DNA from three huge prehistoric creatures “across land, sea, and air.”

The supporting cast includes Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (The Lincoln Lawyer), Mahershala Ali (Green Book), Luna Blaise (Manifest), David Iacono (Dead Boy Detectives), Audrina Miranda (Lopez vs Lopez), Philippine Velge (Station Eleven), Bechir Sylvain (BMF), and Ed Skrein (Deadpool).
Of course, in true Jurassic fashion, things go awry — but this time there are also mutant dinosaurs to contend with.

What Will the Next Jurassic World Be About?
Despite Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018) and Jurassic World Dominion (2022) establishing the popular global dinosaurs premise, Rebirth, which takes place five years after the 2022 film, finds that “the planet’s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs” and that “those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived “(per the official website).
The script, penned by franchise veteran David Koepp (Jurassic Park, The Lost World: Jurassic Park), wasn’t received well by fans. Many felt the film had essentially written the entire franchise into a corner by undoing a concept with enormous potential and by restricting itself to the same jungle island formula the series had already moved away from.
Now, there’s no telling where the next film could go.

Jurassic World Rebirth Will Continue
There has been talk of a sequel since Jurassic World Rebirth was released in theaters, with reports claiming that director Gareth Edwards and Scarlett Johansson are both currently in negotiations to return. However, Universal has not confirmed a new film in the Jurassic series.
Still, another film seems inevitable. But while we wait for news on the next Jurassic, the latest film is getting an official follow-up via the park management simulation game, Jurassic World Evolution 3, which released last October.
Frontier Developments is preparing to roll out its first Rebirth DLC, following a number of expansions that have been added to the base game since its launch. Earlier this year, Reddit user HeavyGold8 shared the developer’s publicly available live stream in which they discussed their annual report. In the clip, employees confirmed that they had a “PDLC for Rebirth coming up”. You can watch the full video here.
Now, the first official teaser for the upcoming DLC has been shared across social media. The short clip shows a rain-battered building with the name “qualtech” set against a dark jungle, while a very familiar roar can be heard in the distance. This is the same gas station from Jurassic World Rebirth, where Zora and the team face off against the Mutadons (flying raptors). And that sound is from the other mutant dinosaur, the Distortus Rex. What Will the New Rebirth DLC Feature?
Frontier Developments has yet to announce what this new DLC will feature; however, based on previous expansions, we’ll likely get more dinosaur species and locations — in this case, Ile Saint-Hubert.
Jurassic World Evolution 3 takes place after the events of Dominion, where players work for the Dinosaur Integration Network (DIN), aiming to rehabilitate and care for the animals in various conservation facilities around the planet.
“Help life find a way,” the synopsis reads. “Build your own Jurassic World like never before. Nurture generations of awe-inspiring dinosaurs with the series debut of juveniles, create and manage sprawling prehistoric parks around the globe, and let your imagination roar with powerful new creative options.”
Actors from the films who have appeared in the games have only done so in a vocal capacity. Jeff Goldblum lends his voice as Dr. Ian Malcolm in the Evolution 3 basegame, having done so in the first two entries alongside Bryce Dallas Howard (Claire Dearing) and BD Wong (Henry Wu).
The game is available across all major platforms now.
