End of an Era: Wine Removed From Disney World

Disney’s Animal Kingdom has always had one of the more interesting dining landscapes in the Walt Disney World Resort, and Satu’li Canteen sits at the center of that. Located inside Pandora: The World of Avatar, the quick-service restaurant has consistently delivered food that surprises guests who expect theme park fare and instead find genuinely creative, flavorful options built around the world of the film. The drink menu has been a smaller but loyal part of that identity, offering guests a way to extend the Pandoran atmosphere into what they are sipping alongside their bowls and proteins.

That drink menu just changed in a meaningful way.

Satu’li Canteen has refreshed its beverage lineup, dropping its wine options entirely in favor of a new set of rum-based cocktails. The switch is not subtle. Two wines are gone. Four cocktails have arrived. And the entire new alcoholic lineup leans into cold brew as its foundation, which is both a departure from what was there before and a smart fit for an Animal Kingdom visit in Florida heat.

The changes affect breakfast, lunch, and dinner service, which means the new drinks are available throughout the full operating day rather than limited to a specific meal window.

What Left the Menu

The two wines that were removed are the Banshee Chardonnay and the Banshee Pinot Noir, both of which were priced at $14. These were a Pandora-themed nod, the Banshee name tying directly to the iconic creatures of Avatar and Pandora: The World of Avatar. They were reasonably popular as a theming touch even among guests who might not typically order wine at a theme park quick-service location.

Also removed: the Specialty Cold Brew Flight at $9.29 and the Specialty Matcha Cold Brew at $6.29. The cold brew flight gave guests a sampler format for exploring the specialty drinks, and its removal closes that option for guests who liked being able to try a little of several things rather than committing to a full drink.

The Ube Cold Brew is staying, but it has been reformulated. The new version uses Ube Sweet Cream and Butterfly Pea Tea Whipped Topping with Freeze-dried Raspberries, which is a more elaborate and visually striking build than what it replaced.

The Four New Cocktails

All four new rum cocktails are priced at $15.50, a dollar and a half above what the wines cost. Here is what each one is.

The Chai Cold Brew with Rum combines Captain Morgan Original Spiced Rum with Bols Triple Sec, Mango Purée, Minute Maid Orange Juice, Chamoy, and Ginger Beer, served in a Chili-Lime-rimmed glass with a Dehydrated Blood Orange Wheel. That is a complex build with a lot of contrasting flavors working together, and the Chamoy and Chili-Lime rim make it the most adventurous option on the new menu.

The Cold Brew with Rum and Sweet Cream is the most straightforward of the four: Joffrey’s Cold Brew with Sweet Cream and a float of Bacardí Silver Rum. Clean, accessible, and the easiest entry point if you want the rum option without the more elaborate flavor profiles of the other drinks.

The Ube Cold Brew with Rum pairs the reformulated Ube Cold Brew with a float of Bacardí Silver Rum, using the same Ube Sweet Cream and Butterfly Pea Whipped Topping as the non-alcoholic version. It is a visually distinctive drink and the purple color profile will generate its share of social media attention.

The Pandoran Sunrise with Rum is DOLE Pineapple Juice and Minute Maid Limeade blended with POWERADE Melon and POWERADE Fruit Punch, topped with Bacardí Superior Rum. This one leans into the fruity, tropical direction and fits the Pandoran theme aesthetically in a way the cold brew options do not, given the otherworldly color the POWERADE combination produces.

For guests skipping alcohol, the new Specialty Chai Cold Brew at $6.29 offers Chai Tea, Oat Milk, and Joffrey’s Cold Brew topped with Whipped Cream and Chai Spice. It is a well-constructed non-alcoholic addition that gives non-drinkers something genuinely new rather than just keeping the existing options in place.

The New Food Item

On the food side, lunch and dinner service at Satu’li Canteen now includes Spicy Pork Steamed Pods at $14.29, served with Root Vegetable Chips and Crunchy Vegetable Slaw. The pod format is consistent with the broader Satu’li aesthetic, which has always leaned into food that looks like it belongs in an alien world while still tasting like something guests actually want to eat. A spicy pork filling with root vegetable chips and slaw is a thoughtful combination that should work as both a starter and a shareable snack.

How This Affects a Disney Vacation

Animal Kingdom is often the park guests plan least amount of eating around, which is a mistake. Satu’li Canteen specifically earns its reputation as one of the better quick-service options anywhere at Walt Disney World, and the menu changes here are worth factoring into how you structure your Animal Kingdom day.

If wine was part of your Satu’li Canteen experience on previous visits, that option is no longer there. The rum cocktail pivot is a significant shift in direction, and guests who preferred the lower-key wine option may need to look elsewhere for that experience at Animal Kingdom. Tiffins and Nomad Lounge remain the strongest options in the park for a wine-forward drink experience.

For guests who lean toward cocktails, the new lineup is genuinely interesting rather than formulaic. The Chai Cold Brew with Rum in particular is the kind of drink that rewards guests who like complexity in what they are sipping. The Pandoran Sunrise is the more accessible option for guests who want something fruity and easy to enjoy while moving through the park.

The cold brew through-line across most of the new menu is practical for Animal Kingdom specifically. The park requires more walking than Magic Kingdom’s compact layout, and a caffeinated drink doubles as both a refreshment and a functional pick-me-up for a day that typically involves significant ground coverage between Pandora, the Africa section, and the Asia attractions.

For guests visiting with non-drinkers in the group, the new Specialty Chai Cold Brew gives that part of your party something worth ordering beyond the standard beverage options, which is a welcome addition.
