The last time I was at Disney World was in 2000…there was a LITTLE BIT of “magic” still left..even at 32 years old, but NOW…now it’s a disgrace. I’ve been there three times over the first 32 years of my life, and honestly..I’m struggling HARD to come up with a reason to EVER set foot there again. Ignoring the astronomical prices for airfare, accommodations and park entries, Disney World (which WAS much better than Disneyland) has eliminated just about EVERYTHING that made it phenomenal. The Dumbo ride and the Pirates of the Caribbean ride hold special places in my heart because I rode them with my dad, but I’m pretty certain that they will be gone too in short order. The Country Bears Jamboree and The Hall of Presidents are favorites as well which I’m sure will be replaced if they haven’t been already….and probably the Haunted Mansion ride. Even Figment met his end because I guess it wasn’t “cool enough” to be marketable…Sometimes you can make even MORE money by sticking with nostalgia instead of the “5 year plan” and the “hot new thing”. I’ve always said that no matter how many times you’ve been to Disney World, it’s ALWAYS BETTER when you’re with someone who has never been there before…now, I don’t even want to go back because it’s not the same “Magical World” that it was, and it never will be

NOT The Happiest Place On Earth anymore. The Dream and Memories are gone. After 50+ years, I don’t feel the same anymore. The TRUE Disney magic is gone along with Walt’s dreams. As the old saying goes, money talks, and it is using a megaphone these days.

💯 They are completely erasing Walt Disney World and ALL the magic. Every reason we all went for is abolished and demolished. So heartbreaking.

Mostly very old ride news, but the recent Carousel of Progress announcement looks like a very bad change. Tossing out a classic that had Walt Disney’s fingerprints all over it is terrible. The CoP appeals to guests for two reasons — a chance to sit down out of the heat for 25 mins, and an opportunity for die-hard Disney fans to get true nostalgia feels in an original park attraction. Now when we’re sitting down for 25 mins we’ll be muttering about how Corporate Disney actually hates their founding genius.

They might as well change the name to Woke Corporate world. The almighty dollar has replaced the magic.

The ride mechanism for Dinosaur at wdw and the ride mechanism for Disneyland’s Indiana Jones Adventure seemed to me to be identical. It seems like an easier change.

What I will miss most is the Rivers of America. It was a great escape to a quieter place and time.
