As a Florida AP I’m disappointed for I many times come just for the day. I start with lunch at Disney Springs and then bus to resort or park of my choice. I then bus back to Disney Springs for some dinner and shopping before going home.

Well, as usual lately, it’s the money that the Disney penny pinchers are worried about and not the people who now spend a small fortune on the product. God forbid people who want to visit a Disney property for a quick lunch or just to look at the decor, go without paying $30 for parking.
The funny thing about verification is that it’s going to introduce a delay, per guest, as they get on the bus. So much for the “paying” guests coming first. Haha.
In the end, since it’s about money, they will probably end up charging everyone to ride the buses. The hotel guests will be spared (like with the current system) and the rest will pay a daily amount. Everyone happy now? If Disney wasn’t worried about money, they would’ve replaced the monorail years ago. Maybe even replaced the parts of the track that look like they’re going to crumble any day now. Keep kicking that can until an accident and then fix it. That will save some money.
Same with the buses. More buses and more drivers would help everyone, but again…money.
Looking at it like people are getting around parking by using Disney Springs as a hack just accentuates the money grab mentality. Charge people to park and you can afford to hire more drivers and get more buses on the routes. Stop pushing everything on the people who love the house of mouse and maybe Walt won’t flip over in his grave…more than he has already.
Sour grapes, right? Well… maybe. I still think it doesn’t hurt them as much as they’re going to hurt everyone else. We’ll see.

This isn’t stripping a perk from resort guests, it’s keeping non-resort guests from creating transportation backlogs and crowding resort areas.

I stopped taking the resort transportation cause of the waits , I just drive to the park or springs, as a AP it doesn’t cost you. Disney continues to cut amenities from the hotels and keeps increasing prices. I would just go to springs and sometimes decide let me go to a resort for some lunch , but now because I don’t make a reservation, I can’t just show up, that sucks. I understand the reason for it, but just add more transportation, they can afford it with the constant price hikes.

It’s not just the busses. The boats between Port Orleans resorts to Springs can have a long wait as well, and those boats don’t hold nearly as many riders.

How many times do these hack I T M “journalist” need to write about the same non-story?

So does this mean if you’re staying at a Disney resort and want to have a meal or snack at another resort, or shop, you can’t get on the bus to go? No more resort hopping if you don’t have a reservation? Or you can resort hop as long as you’re staying in a Disney resort?

We’ve done this; it’s fun to visit other resorts! It helps us decide where we may want to stay next visit, and see what other resorts offer and what their quick service food options are!

CB, I absolutely hope that your concern doesn’t come to fruition, as that would hurt alot of us, who do the same thing that you do.

I think that most of us, as paying resort guests who fly in and have no rented car, because we plan to stay exclusively on Disney property, and thus, spend ALOT of money to add to Disney’s bottom line, utilize Disney Springs as a transit location between resorts, especially at dinner time, to have a special but expensive (by world standards) meal experience.

At very least, as resort guests, we should be entitled to utilize ALL Disney transportation options, not just those to and from our resort.

    1. Jack

Some of you people are hopeless and possess zero critical or independent thinking skills. You spent more time writing a silly woe as me rant than taking the 10 seconds it would have taken you to do a quick search of this policy to tell you that any guest with ANY valid resort reservation can use ANY of the Disney transportation. Hopeless.

  7. Joseph

I know Disney has some of the most talented people in the world if they don’t fix a problem like this than they just don’t care about the guests because they know we will spend our money even if they screw us.

  8. AR

Well this kinda sucks. Living in the area one of our fav things to do is go to the Springs and towards end of day take a bus to go explore the resorts and eat at counter service or get coffee at the Poly and ride the monorail around. This would allow us to check out the holiday decorations and foods without committing to a stay. We always went for the bus with the shortest line or one already loading.

    1. CJ

Um, I guess you’re not smart enough to realize that YOU are the people that are the problem.

Soooo, Saratoga Springs will be the “go to” resort for accessing the parks. Just take a boat ride to SSR then transfer to a park. Bus wait time solved, but boat wait time increases.

Now parking price went up .Enough people dont spend a dime at Disney go to Universal studio. Disney hired this new guy and now just out of nowhere all these changes and price hikes along with rides being close not worth it anymore.

  11. chuck

Save your money. The new guy Disney hired is making a big mistake along with now raising the the price to park .Disney will lose out .Half the rides are close and still charge more money .Go the Universal Studio .Disney should of offered money money and kept Bob .

    1. Pete

Looks like Chuck’s syphilis is acting up
