so i will be coming for 2 weeks in August, and will be staying off disneyworld property. So how do i get to Animal Kingdom, or Hollywood studios from the Ticket and Transportation Center.
If you can’t figure out how to get from point A to point B at this stage of your life then you have many more issues than can be solved in a comment board.
Now they have to start restricting access to Resort Monorail at the close of Magic Kingdom to resort guest only. It is a shame that guest paying to stay at the monorail resorts have to wait on an extremely long line to return to their hotels because people parking at TTC don’t want to wait for the monorail to the parking lot so they hop on the resort monorail that they know makes a stop at TTC. I know some guests at Poly use that stop also, but they could use the main stop for that time. Or Disney can also do a check at the entrance of the monorail to make sure it is only resort guest. I have had to wait 30 minutes to get on the monorail at closing. The monorail empties out at the TTC stop. Something should be done to make it better for the guess that pay to stay at the resort monorails.
It’s about time they did something! Why people think that they should get all the same perks as the guests who pay a premium for them is absurd! Now they need to put checkpoints at all entries and keep the freeloaders who use the resort pools out.
Checkpoints. Disney is starting to sound like something that would have Mr Disney rolling in his grave. Sounds like it’s becoming a police state. And yes, when I USED to go, (I have been going to Disney since I was a small child….the day they opened), I stay at the resorts, even though I only live a couple hours away. I have up my annual pass a few years ago when you needed reservations for parks. Sort of negated paying all that money for park hopping……
Nope…..I do even recognize these parks anymore. VERY sad…..
Part of the sales pitch for DVC membership was always free unlimited use of the Disney transportation system, Annual pass and we’re told the same, Now if you live locally and want to visit resorts with out going to a park first you can’t, unless you have an expensive dinner reservation
So if my wife and I want to travel at Christmas time to see how lovely the hotels are decorated, does this mean we can’t even get on the property to do so. The hotels have a lot of gift shops and this policy would mean the end for “visitors” stopping at the resort hotel to purchase things to send to family. Is that right?
And, one more thing, if your handicapped and need a dedicated parking space NEAR the hotel, to go there decide on lunch or dinner or purchase gifts for family that do not live by their homes near the Disney parks?

I agree with all. I haven’t renewed my AP due to the need for a reservation and costs, but as a DVC member & shareholder, I am think we should be able to resort hop. After all, that was one of the buy-in perk (pool hop). The Christmas decorations & shopping at the different resorts – as each resort offers different items. There has to still be a way to do this. If Disney is going to this extreme, they need to have a check point at the bridge going over to SS from DS and at the check stand at the back road entrance – need someone to check bands for people walking in.

You do not have to go to the TTC if your going to AK or DHS. You will travel directly to those parks.

I’m a current passholder and I go to the hotels more than the parks. This new restriction will prevent that. I won’t be renewing my annual pass.
