Miss leading. An express pass is not a pay to ride like at a fair. You have the ability to ride the ride you just wait. As most people do at theme parks.
No matter the type of express pass/lightning lane, if you’re the type of person who wants to devour the rides and that’s the reason you’re at the park, then purchasing the pass makes sense
Especially if you are only at the park for a single day. Most of my friends are like this, we schedule a time to meet up for one ride queue and a late lunch, but other than that they are off the races.
I, and it irritates my friend group most of the time, am there for the ambience, the history, the how did they do it, how many easter eggs can I find, love waiting in queue. Laid back, multiple days in s single park is my style. So, it doesn’t make sense to buy the passes.
I haven’t been to Disney in years and part of the reason is the paid fast pass. You buy a regular ticket and then those who can afford to pay more make your visit worse by waiting way longer in line.
I spent a day there in January with my grandsons, standing in line over 3 hours for the Harry Potter ride, the restaurants are basically self serve and if you are not computer literate you are not eating, I will never go back, not worth the money. Universal was worth every penny I spent for the week
The theme parks should simply figure a “average cost per guest” that they want to earn, charge it, and get rid of ALL the “line skipping” options…..
Would it be more expensive for the regular public? Of course…
Would it make the lines go FASTER??
MOST DEFINITELY…..and it would be the most ethical way to do things as now there would not exist a two tiered system that punishes people who choose NOT to “buy express”….
Don’t become like Disney, Universal-or the hate for the Mouse will come your way with like results….
This is what happens when companies like Comcast own theme parks. They no longer care about who gets to experience it it’s only about how much money they can put in their back pocket while screwing over every single guest that walks through the turnstile. And as long as people are willing to pay for it they will continue to milk the system as hard as they can. What’s interesting is I’ve noticed the last few times we’ve been there that it’s mostly foreigners now. Wonder how they could afford it?

What a surprise! A Disney vlog trying to trash its competition no one’s forcing you to buy it if you don’t need to

You could have skipped all the rhetoric and just said Universal is introducing their own version of the Lightning Lane Bullshit!!!

A few things:
1) Microtransactions aren’t just for games, I guess
2) DK Country was closed down when I went in April. Waste of money
3) Super Nintendo World was underwhelming
4) The Harry Potter section was awful. Island of Adventure has the better Harry Potter stuff
Overall, Epic Universe, to me, was a waste of time and money

I think there should be a cap on how many people get to go into the park. A family that can’t afford express still deserves a good vacation
