Batman is gearing up for one of the busiest eras in his 87-year-long career.

Not only is Matt Reeves’ The Batman—Part II currently in development, with its theatrical release set for October 2027, but the separate DC Universe (DCU) reboot is also underway.

The Brave and the Bold (TBA), directed by Andy Muschietti (2023’s The Flash), is expected to cast a new actor as the Caped Crusader in the shared-universe continuity that includes Superman (2025), which is separate from the standalone one inhabited by Robert Pattinson.

There’s also the upcoming animated film adaptation of the Batman: Knightfall comic book series, with the first installment set to release sometime later this year.

Casting for The Batman—Part II is already taking shape, with Scarlett Johansson (Jurassic World Rebirth) and Sebastian Stan (Thunderbolts*) having recently been added to the expanding lineup alongside Robert Pattinson.

But while we wait for casting news for The Brave and the Bold and Knightfall, the full lineup for another Batman project, which launched on May 22, has finally been confirmed.

The cast for LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight (2026) has been confirmed.

We already knew that Shai Matheson and Matt Berry were voicing Bruce Wayne/Batman and Bane, respectively, in the brand-new open-world video game, but the full lineup of actors has now been confirmed on social media.

In an Instagram post shared by Matheson on the day of release, the actor wrote: “MEET THE CAST! LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is out TODAY, and we wanted to introduce you to the heroes and villains of Gotham City and the people that brought them to life. Performances cast, recorded and directed at @sideglobal.”

The new title from TT Games and Warner Bros. Games pulls inspiration from every major Batman film: Tim Burton’s Batman (1989) and Batman Returns (1992), Joel Schumacher’s Batman Forever (1995) and Batman & Robin (1997), Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy, Zack Snyder‘s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), and Matt Reeves’ The Batman (2022).

The game takes place in its own DC universe, which is a melting pot of multiple Batman eras. However, it’s not just limited to film — it also draws inspiration from the likes of DC Comics’ Absolute Batman series.

The game features an open-world Gotham City complete with iconic locations such as Arkham Asylum and Ace Chemicals, along with signature vehicles like the Batmobile and Batcycle, and multiple playable characters that include Batman, Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, Jim Gordon, Catwoman, Talia al Ghul, The Joker, and Harley Quinn.

“Step into the cowl of the Dark Knight and unite Gotham’s greatest heroes in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight,” the official synopsis for the game states. “Explore a vast open-world Gotham City, battle iconic villains, and experience a celebration of Batman’s legendary history across film, comics, and animation.”

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is now available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with a Nintendo Switch 2 version arriving at a later date.
