They had it on their website and on Facebook. They closed because of weather… and also as someone who lives close.. i can confirm, it’s been raining for the last few days… so yeah… they are gonna close

Been to Knoebels many times in the rain they stop running the coasters and the big wheel and guess what the park remained open. Hershey Park could have done the same thing. Guess people are afraid of getting wet. People made it threw 3 days at Woodstock with the rain.

thunderstorms can cause the rides to lose power, better to be safe and avoid lawsuits

      2. Yep

        Ridiculous Boomer comment

Saturday was raining non stop, 48 degrees. One article even mentioned this mental day weekend was colder than 2025 Thanksgiving and Christmas. The blue angels had to cancel Saturday show and did their show on Sunday and Monday instead. As a season pass holder with meal plan, I was in the park to get my meal around 3 pm. That place was dead. I doubt it has anything to do with the union negotiation.

Sad, if the Union forced Hershey’s to close to demonstrate their power over Hershey. Some families save their money to visit Hershey and can not afford vacations. Union members are very selfish if they cause customers to suffer. They all should be fired.

Sure, but Hershey doesn’t tend to value their employees. Maybe letting hundreds of skilled workers go to outsource their jobs overseas so a CIO could make 10 million in stock options wouldn’t have happened if those employees were in a Union.

It closed because it rained on Saturday in PA!!!

I was just there all day on Tuesday may 27. It’s fine. It was fantastic

Lmfao what a ridiculous take, that unions are to blame. Get over yourself, we’d still have 5 uear olds working in factories if unions didn’t exist

I would have been pissed paying FULL price for a ticket for them to close early for whatever the reason. They should refund some off the outrageous ticket cost or give a free voucher to come back another day during the season. And give the option to the ticket holder.

    1. Samantha Vonada

They closed due to the rain on Saturday. And they do offer a weather ticket. Guests need to go to guest services for weather ticket.

Union workers deserve fair treatment, wages, & working conditions. If they don’t receive them they have every right to strike if the company doesn’t want to negotiate a fair contract. That’s not the union workers fault if people spend good money to go there & can’t. Thats directly the company’s fault. You’re very nieve to call them selfish. I’m sure if you would get the treatment that they were getting, you would strike too.And you wouldn’t think it was selfish.

The weekend closure also had nothing to do with the union discussions. It was raining all day on Saturday in PA.

    2. Casey

Exactly. Some of these selfish people thinking they deserve more than others. And the closure didn’t even have anything to do with anything union! I bet all the people commenting these things don’t even live in the northeast, and just think it was a little sprinkle of rain.
But also, what an insane take, for those people to say unions suck. We would still have little children destroying themselves in factories if unions didn’t exist. Unions are the reason that fair working conditions even exist in most states.

Pretty much every outdoor attraction in the Northeast closed early this weekend due to unending rain and chiller temperatures. 50 degree rain with wind here doesn’t compare to a passing shower in Orlando with 70 degree temperatures.

IT WAS RAINING!There was thunderstorms and it was chilly out. Dorney Park in the late 1980s had a severe thunderstorm where rides lost power and people got stuck on them, so they shut down early!Good on Hershey for being proactive and avoiding potential problems if the same thing were to happen!

  7. Teresa

Yeah, it was constant rain on Saturday and has NOTHING to do with the union negotiations. If there is a certain amount of steady rain, they shut down the bigger rides for period of time. They also go by attendance numbers. People can get vouchers to return if they would have asked for one on that day. Even the fireworks were rescheduled to Sunday.

Union sucks oh yeah make big money that you pay for its all bout money transfer from another state the bench you Fl is a right to work state ,in Disney a person non union can be working next to a union man doing same job makes 40 dollars less than a union man, the union looks down on him ,a man got put food on his plate feed his family i no this i was in the union I got transfered from Detriot ,to the 808 ironworkers and got benched ,had to pay my bills so yes I had to go to work my ba caught me bill kitchen, and black balled me I had to do what I had to do ended up working on permit lost all my benefits the reason they benched me was they didn’t like outsiders coming in I was in the carpenter and joiners union form Grainger Michigan journeyman and lost all my benefits because I had to pay bills did they help me not at all took every thing I worked
For my pension I set on the bench for months no money no income and get blackballed for making money to feed my family when the union that I payed dues to ,payed to work for turned their back on what a loss

    1. Casey

Lmfao I can think of many other reasons why you maybe lost your job, given your comment. And none of them have to do with unions. xD
Maybe learn to spell and use some punctuation
