Forget Disney, This Summer, A Theme Park 45 Minutes Away Is Doing It Better

Central Florida is one of the most competitive theme park markets on the planet. Within a roughly one-hour radius of Orlando, you have Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando Resort, SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, and enough smaller attractions to fill a week without repeating yourself. Families planning a Florida vacation have no shortage of options, and the pressure on every park in the region to earn a full day from guests who could just as easily spend that day somewhere else is relentless. Most parks respond to that pressure with bigger rides, longer hours, and splashier announcements.

Peppa Pig Theme Park Florida is located in Winter Haven, about 45 minutes from the Walt Disney World Resort. This theme park sits directly in LEGOLAND’s backyard. It has spent the last few years doing something different. It built itself into the best possible version of exactly one thing: a theme park designed from the ground up for preschoolers and the families who love them. And this summer, it is leaning into that identity harder than ever.

Starting Memorial Day weekend, Peppa Pig Theme Park Florida is launching a brand new seasonal event called Pig Family Travel Adventure, and for families with young children, it might be the most thoughtful summer event happening anywhere in Central Florida right now.

What the Event Actually Is

Pig Family Travel Adventure runs on select dates from May 23 through June 28 and is built around a simple, genuinely clever premise. Peppa Pig, George, Mummy Pig, Daddy Pig, and baby Evie are heading out on their very first family vacation together as a family of five, and guests get to come along for the ride.

The event is included with regular park admission and annual passes, which is worth saying clearly because it is not an upcharge experience bolted onto a regular park day. It is the park day.

When families arrive, children receive their own Pig Family Travel Adventure passport, which guides them through a series of themed activity stations positioned around the park. At each stop, kids complete hands-on activities, collect passport stamps, and take part in interactive challenges built specifically for younger children. Guests who finish all of the activities receive a special-edition pop badge, while supplies last, giving the whole thing a satisfying sense of completion that works extremely well for the preschool crowd.

Where the Pig Family Is Traveling This Summer

The country-themed activity zones are where the event gets genuinely fun. The itinerary reads like a preschool version of a round-the-world trip, and each stop is designed to encourage creativity and imagination rather than just passive entertainment.

In Australia, children can search a coral reef for sea animals. In China, families can build their own version of the Great Wall using giant foam blocks, which is exactly as chaotic and wonderful as it sounds. France features a family portrait activity. The South Pole lets little ones help dress Peppa and her family in cold weather gear. And in the USA-themed area, families work together to complete a puzzle inspired by famous American landscapes.

Beyond the country stations, there is a park-wide scavenger hunt that tasks families with helping the Pig family pack for their trip, a photo opportunity aboard Miss Rabbit’s airplane, and character meet and greets with Peppa and her family throughout the day. For a child between the ages of two and six, this is a genuinely full and stimulating day.

The Amazon Activation

Guests visiting on June 20 and 21 get an additional layer to the experience. Amazon is sponsoring a special pop-up on those two dates featuring giveaways, interactive displays, and exclusive offers. Details on exactly what that looks like have not been fully released, but it adds a reason to prioritize those specific dates if families are flexible with their scheduling.

Why This Matters for Central Florida Families This Summer

Brian Bacica, Vice President of Peppa Pig Theme Park Florida, has been clear about the event’s intention. It was built to help families make lasting memories through laughter, exploration, and play. That language sounds simple, but it reflects something that is actually hard to execute well in a theme park environment, especially for the youngest guests.

Most theme parks, including Walt Disney World, are designed for a wide age range. Peppa Pig Theme Park Florida does not have to do that. Every single thing in the park, from the ride heights to the activity design to the character lineup, is aimed at the child who is too young for the big parks but old enough to have a genuine, joyful, memorable day out.

Pig Family Travel Adventure event dates are May 23, 24, 25, 30, and 31, followed by June 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, 21, 27, and 28. The park is located in Winter Haven, roughly 45 minutes from Walt Disney World, and admission includes everything the event has to offer.

For families with preschoolers in Central Florida this summer, this one is worth the drive.
