Disney’s Hollywood Studios is racing toward one of its biggest transformation days in years, and the excitement around the park is getting louder by the hour. In just 11 days, Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets officially opens to guests, bringing a completely reimagined version of the longtime attraction to Walt Disney World.
Disney has now pulled back the curtain on several major additions coming with the ride. Fans are getting new Muppet Audio-Animatronics, a fresh soundtrack, themed food, collectible merchandise, and an entirely updated story that finally brings the chaotic energy of the Muppets directly onto one of Disney’s most intense roller coasters.
For longtime Hollywood Studios fans, this feels like one of the biggest Muppet expansions the park has seen in a very long time.

Scooter and The Electric Mayhem Take Over the Ride
The updated attraction storyline completely changes the backstory guests experience before boarding the coaster. In the new version, G-Force Records has officially been purchased by J.P. Grosse, the Muppet universe businessman known for owning the Muppet Theatre. That ownership shift sets the stage for guests to encounter Grosse’s nephew, Scooter, during their backstage VIP tour.
As visitors enter the recording studio once occupied by Aerosmith, they now find The Electric Mayhem rehearsing for a massive concert while performing “Can You Picture That?” Disney also confirmed that the attraction will feature the very first full-scale Scooter Audio-Animatronic.
Imagineers apparently went all-in to make the figure feel authentic. Instead of simply animating the character traditionally, Disney used motion-capture technology to record an actual Scooter puppet performance. That data helped engineers recreate his body movements, expressions, and mannerisms in incredible detail. According to Disney, the goal was to make Scooter move exactly the way fans expect him to.
The queue will also include a group of penguin audio engineers who will help run the studio. Sharp-eyed Muppet fans will immediately recognize similarities to the Emperor Penguins from MuppetVision 3D. Characters resembling Elmer, Eugene, and Estelle appear to be returning in this new experience, which has already made longtime fans emotional following the closure of MuppetVision 3D.
Once guests finish their tour through the studio, they will head outside into the alley behind Studio C before boarding the famous L.I.M.O. ride vehicles. From there, the coaster launches riders into a fast-moving concert adventure built around The Electric Mayhem’s music and signature chaos.

Disney Reveals the New Ride Soundtrack
Disney also confirmed the official music lineup guests may hear while racing through the attraction. Instead of relying on one single soundtrack, the ride will feature multiple songs with different styles and energy levels.
The current set list includes:
- “Song 2” performed by The Electric Mayhem
- “Born To Be Wild” featuring Camilla the Chicken
- “Love Rollercoaster” with Jennifer Hudson and Questlove
- “Rock! Rock! (Till You Drop)” alongside Def Leppard
- “Walking on Sunshine” with Kelly Clarkson
Disney says each track was selected to give the ride a unique concert atmosphere, depending on which version guests experience. Some songs lean heavily into classic rock energy, while others bring a more upbeat, playful vibe that fits the Muppets perfectly.
The company also teased that additional bonus tracks may already be recorded for future use. That has sparked speculation that Disney could rotate songs seasonally or add surprise tracks later to encourage repeat rides.
For a coaster already known for its intense launch and fast pacing, the addition of multiple soundtracks could make every ride feel a little different.

New Merchandise Brings the Mayhem Into the Gift Shop
Once riders survive their concert adventure, Disney guides them directly to a newly themed merchandise location called Rock Around the Shop. Guests will also be able to pick up an on-ride PhotoPass image designed to look like a classic concert poster.
The merchandise lineup leans heavily into The Electric Mayhem aesthetic, and Disney clearly expects these items to become popular quickly.
One of the standout pieces is a guitar-shaped Loungefly crossbody bag featuring both Animal and Kermit. The bag features bright rock-inspired colors and the phrase “ROCK ON!” splashed across the design.
Disney also revealed several new shirts themed to the band and attraction itself. Fans of classic Muppet humor will probably gravitate toward the new novelty license plate magnet that reads “LET’S ROLL” across the top with the plate number “MUPP3T5.”
Miss Piggy is also getting her own fashion-focused merchandise piece. Disney unveiled a women’s shirt featuring the superstar Muppet, covered in sparkling artwork, with the attraction logo across the top.
The overall collection feels much louder and more playful than standard attraction merchandise, which honestly fits the Muppets perfectly.

‘FØØD by Swedish Chef’ Expands the Muppet Experience
Disney is not stopping with the ride and merchandise. Guests visiting the area will also be able to grab several new themed snacks and drinks at FØØD by Swedish Chef.
The menu includes items with intentionally ridiculous Muppet-style names, including the Wocka Wocking Nachos, the Churro Drumstick, and the Mayhem Soft-Serve Float.
Beyond the specialty items, Disney is also offering Mini Corn Dogs with chips, Chocolate Chip Cookies, assorted chips, waffle cones in vanilla, chocolate, or swirl flavors, frozen Coke and Barq’s Root Beer floats, fountain drinks, and Frozen Blue Raspberry beverages.
For adults, the Frozen Blue Raspberry option can also be served with Bacardi Superior Rum or Tito’s Handmade Vodka.
The entire food area feels designed to extend the concert atmosphere even after guests leave the attraction. Between the bright menu items, over-the-top names, and themed desserts, Disney is clearly trying to turn this entire corner of Hollywood Studios into a full Muppet destination again.

Hollywood Studios Has an Enormous May Ahead
As excited as fans are for May 26, Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets is only part of what Disney has planned.
That same day also marks the debut of The Walt Disney Studios area at Hollywood Studios. Disney describes the space as being inspired by the original Burbank studio lot, complete with familiar architecture, studio-inspired scenery, and a more relaxed atmosphere for families.
The reworked area will continue housing The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure while also introducing Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! inside a nearby soundstage.

Later this summer, Disney will expand the area again with The Magic of Disney Animation, a walk-through attraction celebrating Disney animation history. The experience will feature character encounters inside Off The Page, the Drawn to Wonderland playground, and Olaf-led drawing lessons.
And before any of that even arrives, Disney is already launching another major addition on May 22. Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run will debut a brand-new mission featuring the Mandalorian and Grogu inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
Hollywood Studios is moving incredibly fast right now, and May could end up being one of the park’s most important months in years. Between the Muppets takeover, new shows, updated lands, and fresh experiences across the park, Disney is making it very clear that Hollywood Studios is entering a brand-new era.
