DEFINITELY NOT A FAN OF CARS FRANCHISE AT ALL! AND EXTREMELY UPSET with how Disney has destroyed Frontierland and the nostalgia and Americana of it all! I don’t know ANYONE whis is happy about this destruction! Many people, along with myself, have not been to MK since it was announced and may not go back!
Nothing is dated and Tom Sawyer Island is not being removed in Disneyland or Disney World, ever. Disney has no right to remove it. Disney must learn to not change and that the past is the present. There is no future and get your head back in the past. When I take over Disney and make it great again, I will double down on the Frontierland theming. Kids will be meeting Tom Sawyer, Huck Finn, and Becky Thatcher in the park again along with Davy Crockett like the glory days. Even folk heroes and American folklore figures such as Calamity Jane, Annie Oakley, Frank Butler, Buffalo Bill, John Henry, Pecos Bill, and Paul Bunyan. The parks will be a reflection of both mine and Walt’s tastes.
As for me, I am glad that they are bringing something new to Tom Sawyer Island. However, I do wish they would fix the props from Pirates of the Caribbean on the island. Last time I was there they were not working at all and they should also reopen Fort Wilderness so that kids can explore what life was like on the frontier. They should also create meet and greet character locations on the island so that more kids and families can come over.
I’ve been going to Disney since the 70’s, I wanted to go back to Disneyland, but not anymore. Why travel cross country for something that is not True Disney anymore.
TS Island is such a wonderful calm spot in D-land. Went there many, many times as a kid. Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t Mr. Disney himself have a lot of input on this? I know change is inevitable, but this little island is just too special to remove.
Word on the street is that next year Disneyland’s island will close too. But only for a year or so while they drain the river and fix things including Fantasmic. The needs of Fantasmic seem to be what is driving this. So get those boat rides this year while you can!
No it’s not closing. No Tom Sawyer Island in the US is closing or closed. There will be no Cars in WDW. It’s a hoax. Pirates Lair will be removed from Disneyland’s island so no more Jack Sparrow and kids will once again meet Tom Sawyer, Huck Finn, and Becky Thatcher.
It’s hard to fathom Disney execs decided to build a car ride in a land predating the car! Makes no sense whatsoever! Want to create new experiences? Fine. Make sure changes fit the theme of the land! This isn’t rocket science!
Over 10,000 acres of land available (15 sq miles !!!) at WDW. I know some of it is dedicated to conservation, but still enough to build additional “lands” !!! I really liked the slow relaxing ride on the boat….I would have extended it !
Too many changes; Walt wanted the park to evolve, but really……

Here is one person… Frontierland is too dated. Sometimes things have to change. Stop living in the past.
Don
Poor entitled liberal

Stop living in the present, Mike 🤣
ROGER D STEVENS
If we stop living the “PAST”, our history will disappear. Our present and future were because of the “PAST”. Delete our “PAST”, delete our being.
Anthony
Frontierland is supposed to dated dumb-dumb! It’s the Wild West circa 1800s! Not a modern world!
Chris B
Stop trying to force the present when the past was just fine the way it was especially for amusement parks.

Unsubstantiated rumour! Give us facts, not cheap talk.
