Disney Cruise Line has always understood that a Disney cruise is not simply a cruise with Disney characters aboard. It is a floating extension of the Disney Parks experience, a self-contained world where the entertainment, the theming, the food, and the atmosphere are designed to work together in the same way they do on land, with the added dimension of being at sea and the added intimacy of a guest population that is fully captive to whatever the ship has to offer. The entertainment programming on a Disney cruise is not background noise. It is a significant part of what sets Disney sailings apart from other cruise products, and Disney has historically invested in keeping that programming at a level that justifies the premium the line commands.
This summer, Disney Cruise Line is making its biggest entertainment push in recent memory, rolling out new and refreshed experiences across the fleet that include Broadway-style stage productions, character-driven deck parties, destination-inspired programming, and an updated version of one of the line’s most beloved traditions. For guests with Alaska sailings on the Disney Wonder or Disney Magic, the new programming is particularly significant. For guests on virtually any Disney Cruise Line ship this summer, something is changing for the better.
Here is everything that is coming.
Frozen Is Taking Over Alaska Sailings
If you are sailing to Alaska on the Disney Wonder or Disney Magic this summer, Frozen is about to define your sea day in a way it has not before. Disney Cruise Line is adding For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration as a live upper-deck experience on Alaska sailings, bringing the beloved Hollywood Studios attraction format directly to the ship. The sing-along is hosted by Royal Historians and features Anna, Elsa, and Kristoff guiding guests through the story of the first Frozen film with song lyrics displayed on-screen for full audience participation.
The sing-along anchors what Disney is building into a full day of Frozen-themed programming on select Alaska sailings. Anna’s Frozen Fun Hunt offers a scavenger-hunt-style activity designed to get everyone exploring and playing together. Oaken’s Maypole Swirl and Twirl brings an atrium dance celebration filled with music and movement for all ages. A Frozen-themed dining experience completes the day with traditional Nordic fare and special dishes inspired by the film.

The geographic connection between Alaska’s natural landscape and Frozen’s Scandinavian-inspired setting makes this programming feel genuinely earned rather than arbitrarily assigned. An Alaska sailing provides the thematic backdrop that makes a day built around Arendelle feel like more than a marketing exercise.
The Broadway Star Series
On select Disney Wonder and Disney Magic sailings, the Broadway Star Series brings a rotating cast of Broadway and West End performers aboard for live performances and behind-the-scenes stories from the world of professional theater. The series is curated by Susan Egan, the Godmother of the Disney Destiny, alongside Adam J. Levy of 10th and Main Productions.
Susan Egan’s connection to Disney’s theatrical history makes her a natural architect for this kind of programming. The Broadway Star Series offers something genuinely different from standard cruise entertainment, an experience that positions Disney Cruise Line as a venue for professional theatrical performance rather than simply a ship with shows. For guests who love theater, this addition represents one of the more compelling reasons to seek out specific sailings.

Let’s Set Sail
The sail-away experience, that first celebratory moment when a ship leaves port and the vacation officially begins, is being updated across the fleet with a new show called Let’s Set Sail. Hosted by Captain Mickey and Captain Minnie, the deck stage show welcomes guests aboard with music and character appearances. Let’s Set Sail is currently offered on the Disney Destiny, Wish, Adventure, Fantasy, and Treasure, and is rolling out across additional ships as the year progresses. Characters may vary by ship.
Mickey’s Color Spin Dance Party
After debuting on the Disney Wonder in March, Mickey’s Color Spin Dance Party is expanding to additional sailings this spring, including select Disney Magic sailings this month. The party sets guests dancing with Mickey Mouse and friends against a spinning virtual color wheel, with upbeat arrangements of iconic Disney songs driving the energy. It is the kind of high-participation deck party that works for every age group simultaneously, which is exactly what a family entertainment offering on a cruise ship needs to accomplish.
Mickey and Minnie’s Pirates in the Caribbean
Later this year, select Disney Cruise Line sailings will debut an updated Pirate Night experience called Mickey and Minnie’s Pirates in the Caribbean. The updated experience is arriving on the Disney Wonder this spring and will debut on the Disney Magic following the Alaska season. The new version features lively music, interactive moments, and appearances by favorite Disney characters in their pirate best.
Pirate Night has been one of the signature traditions of a Disney sailing for decades, and the updated version evolves alongside the broader fleet expansion rather than simply repeating itself year after year. Among the newly updated activities is Match Your Matey, a pirate-themed version of the classic adult Match Your Mate game that has been expanded beyond couples to welcome friends and groups of any configuration.
The breadth of what Disney Cruise Line is introducing and updating this summer reflects a fleet that is growing and an entertainment philosophy that is keeping pace. Alaska guests get Frozen. Theater lovers get Broadway performers. Families get updated deck parties and a refreshed pirate night. Every sailing gets a better send-off with Let’s Set Sail.
The ships are already sailing. The new programming starts now.
