This is always what Disney does – though admittedly they are working with more obscure Disney IP. They OVER PRICE for short term gain. This was the story of the demise of the Disney Store stores as well. They started out carrying high quality and unique merch which ultimately degenerated into little plastic trinkets and crap. In addition there was over saturation of the market – you can’t have EVERYONE carry Disney crap and not have it hurt. Disney Stores at one time had the best rating for sales dollars for square foot. But their pursuit of MORE MORE MORE money destroyed the brand. I will lay this again at the feet of Bob Iger
