I was born in Anaheim and grew up watching the nightly fireworks shows at Disneyland from my friend’s backyard treehouse. After moving from California, I still got to make trips to Disneyland twice a year during summer vacation and Christmas break. As an adult, my husband became aware of an item on my bucket list: to visit every Disney park in the world…and he made that dream come true. I anxiously await the new Disney Theme Park in Abu Dabai, to make sure I can keep that wish marked off my bucket list, not to mention the adventure of visiting the Middle East. “When your heart is in your dreams, no request is too extreme; when you wish upon a star, your dreams come true…” (Jiminy Cricket). Can’t WAIT for the newest Disney park!!!
I can’t wait to see how Disney will navigate the cultural and religious differences in the Middle East. Me thinks they will be much less progressive in their indoctrination.
While Disney chose one of the few states in the Middle Easr where women aren’t required to wear head coverings – here’s what the State Dept recommends with respect to women’s attire in Abu Dhabi
Shoulders and Knees: It is recommended to keep your shoulders and knees covered in public places like malls and streets.
Avoid Revealing Attire: Avoid excessively tight, transparent, or low-cut clothing.
Beachwear: Swimwear is completely acceptable at beaches, private pools, and waterparks, but it should not be worn while walking through the city or inside hotel lobbies.
